Shocking service, buy a vehicle that is faulty and not safe for the road surecheck will not do anything because surecheck only covers from the sale date though the vehicle wasn’t collected until a few days after due to third party transport. If the vehicle was delivered by Manheim themselves they would start the cover from the day they dropped off what is the difference. Cow Boys totally!! You pay for a warranty and nothing is covered

Firstly, I wish I had visited this site prior to becoming another Mark in the well-orchestrated scam being operated by this company. Like many of the other Marks on this site, I contacted Manheim via the Auto Traders website entering my car registration, a short while later I was contacted by Adam a Manheim call centre operative. Adam asked me various details about my car which I answered honestly in order not to waste either his or my time. The Manheim Scam now evolved into the five following stages: 1. The Offer. This is when the scam begun to be put in operation, he acknowledged that my car sounded very nice and for that reason he was going to increase the offer price by £300, making the offer reasonable and fair. 2. The Appointment to conclude the sale. I was then asked would I want the car viewed by their assessor just to confirm all details I supplied were true and if so, would I except the offer to which I agreed. 3. The Assessment. The assessor carried out his appraisal of the car and commented their a few minor stone chips and very slight marks on an alloy wheel. He informed me that his report had been sent off to Head Office for their observations. Whilst we waited on the approval for sale, he repeatedly remarked what a fine car in was and it was like new with 27000 recorded miles. When he received a reply from the HO, he said I am too embarrassed to give you the reply as it is so ridiculous, but I am required to inform you, they have seen fit to lower the offer by £1500+. I personally feel £150 / £160 would cover any works which may be required but they are so insignificant I wouldn’t even bother the car is immaculate as is. 4. The Scam Now clearly up and running Manheim are relying on their Marks not to being aware of cars true worth and they attempt to secure sales of cars by deception. 5. Contact with Manheim. Of course, the initial operative who sent up the process was unavailable on another call, one can only surmise he was recruiting another Mark by inflating car prices. So, I spoke with another operative who informed me that the offer was prepared by computer and that is what they went by regardless of me being told previously that an agent in HO actually makes the final decision. I have at this time applied by the FOI to have sight of all data this company has listed against contact details. Any persons who have been subjected to this elaborate scam should do likewise as I believe Manheim is clearly breaching fair trading regs. Meanwhile, watch this space and please seriously consider Do You Want to Be Scammed? Date of experience: April 18, 2023

RUAbout
This company and many others car auctioneers have developed buyer and seller unfriendly practices. * I once bought a vehicle from them, paid for it, and collected it, the Log Book was NOT with it, they promised to send it on, I drove it away from their premises and 500 yards away, the engine was knocking badly so I turned around and took it straight back. To get rid off it, I had to re-enter into their next auction as a seller. It was resold as a non-runner, and the new buyer paid for it. Afterwards, they refused to 'pay-me-out' because I had NOT supplied them with a log book for it. I explained that they had never given me a log book with it but they still refused to pay me out! The obstructive and highly disliked person I dealt with who refused the refund was killed soon afterwards in their yard when a truck airline hose he was trying to fix shattered and killed him, there was a lot of well known auction regulars who had dealt with him who was glad.
