I posted a 2 star review earlier today re MDC online website usage then I finally got through today on the phone to them to a lovely phone advisor after clicking option 7 instead of the departments I actually needed to go through to. I am so glad I picked that phone option as Yvonne (hope correct spelling of her name) was so nice and helpful, she explained a few things to me and was kindly forwarding on my query to the depts , she pulled up on her screen all my info I'd previously provided to MDC so that made me happier that they actually had recieved the info provided a month ago to them. All in all a very positive friendly chat with her so 5 stars to her today from me 😊

Some appalling decisions are being taken by the Planning Department. There appears to be a real lack of consistency in their decisions, where approval is given to some applications and not to others, where the same criteria apply. Developers are being allowed to fill in our open spaces without providing local communities with any beneficial amenities or infrastructure. Shame on them.

30 years in Architecture and delt with many helpful Planning departments in Essex but this council is the Rudiest unprofessional you will ever deal with! Poor service and unhelpful Planning staff.

Shockingly poor. Calls never returned, emails not answered, customer service there to field any caller away from the department they actually need, and so often unable to help anyway so you need that department. Awful
