  I just want to say a big THANK YOU to Aneka Shoukat. During my long proceedings in Family Court there were moments where I was giving up but Miss Shoukat was a wonderful and the right person I selected to deal with my case. Miss Shoukat always kept me informed and was very clear with what was happening. I was very pleased as I got the result I wanted at final hearing. I just want to say that any proceedings are not very pleasant but having Miss Shoukat made things easy for me and gave me hope. I would recommend Makin Dixon to others and definitely Miss Shoukat.   Recently, after a number of years, I found myself in court facing my ex again. Previously, Makin & Dixon represented me successfully in the past, so I knew I would find another incredible solicitor from Makin & Dixon. I was not disappointed - Aneka​​​​ Shoukat was my solicitor and I am very pleased to say that she met my rather high expectations.   After a recent breakdown with my x partner I was in need of a reputable solicitor to help me with the process of a child arrangement order. I was recommended Makin and Dixon by a friend who had used them previously as I was going round in circles trying to find a solicitor to help who would actually help me rather than just look at me with money signs in their eyes. Straight away Makin and Dixon put me at ease when I contacted them through their website. They listened to me explain what was happening and gave me options going forward and how much it would cost. From there I was put forward to Aneka Shoukat from the keighley branch who went through all the forms I had received, listened to the background of the case and advised me going forward how she would help. The first dispute resolution hearing was in only a few days from first contact with her, but she put my mind at ease, explained what would happen and how she would support me going forward. From the first time I spoke to Aneka I knew she was the lady to help me, she was personable, listened to everything I put forward and didn’t beat around the bush when she talked to me. Everything was straight forward from beginning to end. She supported me and the children in one of the most anxious times of my life. She went above and beyond from my first expectations with her, listened to me cry, rant, be elated, feel worried and helped me so well along this journey. Yes solicitors do cost a lot of money, but in reality I could not of done this without the support and kindness of Aneka as she helped with things I wouldn’t of pushed for in the long run. From paperwork and statements and making sure everything was done on time for the court her focus was always to help me and make sure everything ran smoothly. Throughout all this I didn’t feel like I was dealing with a solicitor but more of a friend which I felt we became at the end over the 12 months. Nothing was too much trouble, she was always available for calls and emails and I never felt I was in limbo. She got the results we wanted and was always positive we would get those results. Hopefully I won’t need to use her services again, but if I do then I would be straight back on the phone without any hesitation. Honestly the most loveliest of ladies and high recommended company I have had the pleasure to deal with.

  I was working with Aneka Shoukat from April 2021- December 2021 on the matter of a child arrangement order and she was nothing short of superb! Aneka was so personable and really made me feel at ease through a very difficult time. She took special care to explain things to me clearly in a language I was able to understand and it felt like she really cared about me and my case every step of the way!
