The Crown Court in Maidstone very rarely answer the phone, 9 times out of 10 it just rings with no answer at all. Maidstone Crown virtually never respond to an email, even when it is sent by the CPS. Maidstone Crown Court administration is an utter shambles.

I go to court fairly regularly in a professional capacity dressed up like you should. Today I went to get some information/leaflets and talk to someone about small claims. I was dressed in a tracksuit being very casual, it’s a hot day 24 degrees C. I was met at the metal detectors by a security guard Kevin HANSEN who gave me a look and immediately assumed I was a criminal and asked which court I was in! I explained why I was there he pointed to a phone and said dial the extension, I knew there was a receptionist sitting round the corner who would be able to get me the information I wanted but he refused to let me go to her. Instead he said it’s normal practice to phone... I tried but after about 10 mins I gave up. I spoke to another helpful security guard who said that the receptionist was an usher and would not be able to help me, at last someone with people skills. County Court I think your some of your security guards are old and assuming and clearly need diversity training and some people skills wouldn’t go amiss.... I have now left countless messages for someone to get back to me, not holding my breath.
