Trying to get through to the Council Rates department is appalling, waiting 30 mins to be answered is unacceptable, all these increases and you can't even have enough staff to answer the phones, would give you no stars at all if possible

If I could give MBC zero stars I would. I have been sent a reminder to pay for our garden waste collection. This year alone it has not been collected at least six times. I was told each time I rang to say that it would be collected (it wasn't) and that this would be added to my account and that I would have my subscription extended. Absolute rubbish (excuse the pun!). I have now called for the second time in 4 days and once again, no one is taking calls until after 1.30pm!! WHY??? Someone at the top of the chain at MBC needs to look at the disgraceful way this Council is run. I am paying over £250 per month Council Tax for this disgraceful service. Perhaps a call to one of the local papers might prompt someone to do something to assist the residents of Maidstone.

Unfortunately, my experience overall hasn’t been great. Building control were ok but everything else has been below standard. I have reported litter numerous times and each time my report gets closed as done but it hasn’t. I check my CCTV and nobody has done anything. Re-raise it and still, nothing. But they demand you pay your Council tax by 10th of the month… I’ll be pleased to get out tbh.

Although I do understand that snow causes health and safety issues in this modern world. On the other hand I can't see why a several ton heavy waste collection lorry can't drive on the roads when most roads are clear of snow in densely populated areas. What is your contingency plan MBC for waste collection? This year, several collections have been cancelled including garden waste, yet you're expecting to be paid the full fee for the service you do not deliver.

I have had numerous interactions with the council staff over the past year, with regards to my elderly grandmother's property and I have found them to be responsive, very polite and helpful in every case. I can see that they don't have many good reviews here but I am personally very grateful and appreciative for their excellent service and help.

Absolutely awful. There is no staff. Called a over a dozen times. Switchboard states call back at a certain time and then the message switches to office is closed due to training when you call at designated time. A dis-service to the whole Borough and County. A disgrace!!

I phoned and spoke to environmental health dept 4 weeks ago, for 4 months we’ve been battling , with the help and cost of a private pest company. Land adjacent to us, is the cause. 2 yes ago same problem environmental health visited, reported source geese food. We ve had rats in our kitchen cupboards, dog bitten by one, all told to MBC…. Still no call back.I pay £3,000+ Council Tax live in F3 FRbedroom semi ?? On a road with no lighting, no paths, continuous theft, bins, all 20 large stone outside front, Tools from garage, drive, cars etc. No local policing, pot holes galore, flooding, now heavy and dangerously fast traffic on our road. All due to the continuous building of thousands of new homes around us and neighboring villages, with NO infrastructure…. All pure greed for the crippling high Council Tax rates. My parents live in a house 4 times the size of our, pay only £300 more a year than us … As although only 8 miles away they’re under Ashford Council.
