Fantastic organisation that takes pride in what they do. Great sense of community and coming together vibes. They teach you how to create fantastic vegan recipes that are both healthy but also affordable. They also do community cooking classes for low fees or free for those eligible, cannot sing their praises enough. Good people, good food, great charity!

Fabulous experience with a great teacher and assistants. I got so much more than expected from the course on alternative vegan meats. There was so much food to eat on the day and we got to take away the leftovers. Instructions were clear and also provided in writing with lots of variations and options.

Excellent class by the very knowledgeable Nishma. We learned to make a gorgeous oil-free beetroot/carrot simple salad, masala papad which reminded me of the pico de gallo I grew up eating, along with a very delicious potato/pea curry and finally chapatis. I will be adapting these recipes and utilising them during my day-to-day! A lovely team of volunteers supported Nishma in our intimate cooking setting. Thank you so much Made in Hackney and Nishma! Really enjoyed it!

This is the first class ( gut health) I have attended since lockdown in the MIH beautiful new kitchen in Clapton. It's certainly an improvement on the old kitchen with more space and light & a disabled toilet which I need. I very much enjoyed the whole experience- the expertise of the tutor, the helpfulness of the volunteers, the general friendliness of the participants of every age and background and the atmosphere, in which everyone can feel truly welcomed. The recipes were innovative delicious & quite easy to make- lovely no knead buckwheat and seed loaf, miso soup, turmeric latte and chocolate mousse- all plant based. Although I already knew quite a lot about gut health, I learnt a lot more. My only small criticism was that the tutor and volunteers needed to familiarise themselves with the new kitchen and the cookers before the participants arrived. But I am sure this will soon be sorted out. I also think this way of financing the free classes is an excellent idea; helping to remove some of the inequalities in our society.
