Just arrived back from a lovely weekend staying at North Star. I have been wanting to stay here for a number of years but some of the negative reviews put me off. ( really wished I’d not let them, so we could have stayed here sooner) We stayed in the Atkinson suite and it was fabulous has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The shower was amazing ( powerful and warm) The log fire make the room very cosy and warm, comfortable bed with stylish decor. The site was beautiful and staff went out of their way to be helpful and make our stay perfect. We’ll definitely be returning this year for another relaxing stay. 😊 Rooms: How beautifully decorated and had everything you could need for a relaxing short break.

Stayed for two nights in the woodville suite. We were greeted by a lovely man who showed us to our cabin and talked us through everything...It was a really relaxing break...the rooms give a rustic, luxurious feel while still being surrounded by the woodland and nature. The bathroom has the wow factor for me!... Coal bbq, two ring gas hob on the outside covered terrace with seating area was lovely to sit out on an evening, be sure to bring extra lanterns as it does get very dark as no outside lighting. Close enought to market Weighton and Beverly if you want a trip out...would definitely stay again

FOUR IN A BED.... dirty dusty over priced cabins. An establishment run by mother & daughter who are delusional and dont put cleaning as a priority on any list! Aside from how nasty and mean spirited they appeared to be in this reality show id quite frankly rather sleep in my car than book into this establishment based on their conduct in the show irrespective of how long ago this episode was filmed .

Stayed for my 30th birthday in Sept 22. Arrived at 4.15pm, no one to greet us at the barn but this was fine tbh - key and map were left so we were excited to get to our cabin. Found the cabin and were a bit taken aback. Wall mounted toilet roll holder had obviously come off the wall and had been left on the floor next to toilet, tried to pop it back on the wall but apparently the screws were gone so it kept just falling off. About 1/4 roll left for us in the bathroom sink (why in the sink I don’t know). Bathroom taps full of toothpaste spatters from the previous guests. Long hairs in the bath tub. One of the lights in main room not working. Kitchen floor sticky and covered in what looked like crumbs and coffee. I don’t see how this cabin was checked or cleaned prior to our stay which is so disappointing. Super budget hotels have been a million times more clean than this place was. Advertised as ‘everything will be provided for you to use your wood burner, just look up how to use it’. So we did look it up and were excited to use it, except there was one tiny log left in the bucket and nothing else provided. Went to the main barn again at 5 for help with this and again no one was there. Returned at quarter to 6 and the barn had now been padlocked. Called the number on the map several times and straight to voicemail. So we were left with a young baby in a freezing cold cabin all night with no means of starting this wood burner, heating was advertised to come on but they’ve obviously turned it off to save money. Main campfire near the barn was also a main attractor to us staying, this wasn’t lit and no means of doing so was provided - we planned to use their advertised honesty box marshmallows to toast.. we couldn’t as they’d locked it all up. I mean this didn’t matter as there was no campfire anyways. Honestly such a disappointing stay, we envisaged ourselves sat by the campfire relaxing then back to our cabin and enjoying the wood burner but just ended up in a filthy, freezing cold cabin for a night and we couldn’t wait to get home. Even considered just leaving after a couple of hours but we had paid so much to stay here. I contemplated whether or not to write this review, but to be honest I wouldn’t want anyone else to have a rubbish birthday and waste a load of money so here’s the truth! At one point I’m sure this little camp was properly looked after, but I can tell you that it’s not anymore. It’s a shame because the setting itself is lovely but it just wasn’t as advertised and I wouldn’t recommend.

We were a group 6 women celebrating a 40th. We stayed in the star suite which had a double ended copper bath, sauna, huge double bed and open fire. We stayed in what felt like our own private woods. The venue made everything so easy by providing wood, charcoal and all you need for fire and warmth. There was central heating and whilst it poured rain the fact we had an open fire listening to it on the tin roof made it all the better experience! Towels, bedding and basic utensils also provided. We played board games, took turns to cook, stoke the fire, watch movies, wondered the forest trail, read each others tarot and practiced yoga. The option of using the wood shed was really welcome as having a different environment to use ensured we avoided cabin fever. You do have to use the main bedroom as the main hang out room, and also go through to reach the bathroom and kitchen, we are a close and communicative group so this wasn't an issue for us but worth a mention.

We had a large group so needed 2 cabins. Both were absolutely stunning and we loved our stay. Our only issue was finding the entrance (that could be down to my navigationskills though). We went 1 road past, went down a lovely country lane, past cows and a lot of horses, to end at a Manor. Luckily the owners were lovely and knew exactly where we needed to be and sent us on our merry way 😂
