Stayed here last may for a weekend for my boyfriends birthday, we had been to Alton towers, after a day there coming up to Mackworth house we couldn't believe just how beautiful it was, our room was the apartment, it was beautiful spacious, comfy and cozy, the hosts were fantastic! So funny and welcoming, intact I had forgotten my bathbombs and the host kindly gave me one, the breakfast was incredible and I would definitely come again, we frequently talk about rebooking as it's in such a beautiful area, and the service makes it that much better. Thank you for having us! Tia&Ross Sorry it took us so long to review

Enjoyable stay. Lovely location. Pleasant host , couldn't do enough to help. Quirky farmhouse. Complimentary continental breakfast was good. Bed was very comfortable with everything needed. The bathroom was clean & modern but separate next door to the room ( it was exclusive to the room). I think other rooms do have ensuite. We went to Derby Arena on a Saturday night and found this a good alternative to a city centre chain of hotels.

I booked with Peter as I was attending a party at the close by Farmhouse venue. My room was beautifully clean and very comfortable. As the weather was inclement Peter very kindly offered to drop me up to the Farmhouse which is just a few minutes away. However the real favour was when he offered to then collect me at 1.20am in the morning! As a single woman visiting an unknown area I can't tell you how welcome and kind this was. It is unlikely a taxi would have agreed to do a 5 minute trip. I can't say enough about Peter and his team. Such a warm welcome and a very comfortable stay. Thank you so much.

First class alternative to a regular hotel- more personable, spacious and super-convenient location for access to Derby or all the surrounding area. Family and dog friendly, excellewnt parking; a countryside oasis only 5 minutes from Markeaton Island! Would be a great spot to base a regional motorcycle tour from or exploring Derbu=yshirein general but equally if visiting Derby on business to return to a nice working-home and not a bland hotel. Rooms: Spacious, comfortable, well-appointed, good wi-fi
