I decided to use MAP surveyors due to the positive Google reviews I saw online. Unfortunately I didn't have a pleasant experience with MAP surveyors. I paid £610 for a level 2 survey and I would say it was very generic, Ben the surveyor could not even confirm whether the hosue was connected to the mains sewage system, he wrote on the report that he 'presumes the house is connected to the mains sewage system'. A bit disappointing to spend over £600 and not even know whether the hosue is connected to the main sewers. Another issue I had with MAP is during the conveyancing process, it came to light that there wasn't any building regs documentation for the property, I asked Ben how this would affect the valuation price and he chose to not reply to my query. So for the above reasons I wouldn't use MAP again or recommend them to family or friends. I personally think you would get a more personal and thorough experience going with a local independent surveyor.

Worked with Dave from MAP as the surveyor for our new home purchase. Not only was he excellent at his job, he also made himself available after the survey for questions. Some of these questions involved other professional services he offered his insights on (asbestos report, electrical report, negotiating etc.) Would highly recommend Dave, as he was deeply knowledgeable and took a stressful situation and offered clarity and reassurance (as we are ex-pats and first time home buyers).

Was looking into buying a house, got M A P Chartered Surveyors to look init for me, very quick and very detailed report, listing things from serious, mild and risk free, really gave me a great insight to what I was getting myself into with the property I was going to purchase, they found things that the owner either didn't know about or flat put lied about, really helped me put my mind at ease. Really friendly staff who ran through everything with me about what I get for my money, didn't hound me to pay for extras etc. Would seriously recommend and will use again when I find another property to purchase.
