2023 update: A good test of golf with a difficult finish as you get more tired at the round end. Course in reasonable nick after a wet and cold Spring has made growing grass difficult. We won't be going back for the Seniors Open in 2024 because playing off the white stones makes it too long especially when there is no roll on the fairways. Food was distinctly below average; a tired steak pie with broad beans that had survived the Coronation weekend without ending up in the King's Quiche. Good range of beers and bar staff were very efficient. Captain was visible too. 2020:Definitely worth a visit. Greens rolled well at good pace and Course has recovered well from 2018 drought and winter. Some long par 4's for Seniors, maybe consider playing off Yellow tees for Seniors Open.

Lovely golf course will definitely be returning. The greens needed to be cut but generally good enough for the competition.

It's a a good course with some difficult holes and others that are more normal. It has some long par 5 and par 4 holes that the average player couldn't hope to reach in 3/2. The rough is generally forgiving allowing you to find and hit balls. Not if you hit it into the Manchester Ship Canal though. It has suffered in the hot weather and the greens and some approaches are currently in poor condition. Still great fun to play.
