Very disappointing experience with afternoon tea. Waited over an hour for food. Sandwiches were stale. Teapots were labeled wrong and it took 10 minutes to get replacement cups, and they only brought 3 instead of 4. Teapots were unsightly metal pots with extremely hot handles with only a folded tissue to lift them up. Not what you’d expect from a high class afternoon tea. Asked if we wanted more sandwiches and also got that order wrong. Claimed they could not make some sandwiches on white bread even though they insisted sandwiches are made fresh. When we complained the manager was extremely rude and hostile and said all he could do was take off the service charge (which is optional anyway). He did not apologise or acknowledge that the service had ruined the celebration for our group. You’d expect much better service from a place like this and your money would be better spent going to afternoon tea at a place which respects their customers in nearby Harpenden or St Albans. An official complaint has been sent via email but others should know how the Luton Hoo treats their guests.

Why don’t you pick up your phones or respond to emails? I have been trying to contact you for 2 weeks! I have. Tried every option on your IVR, I have tried calling at different times of the day, this is actually ridiculous! Update- managed to finally get through (I think it was via the operator option after waiting for 30 minutes). Aldrin was super helpful so a big shout out to them! An asset to your luton hoo team so I hope you treat them well!

Been coming here for many years, it’s always lovely to visit all year round, especially in the summer to enjoy a drink while in the well kept gardens. Haven’t stayed in the hotel itself so can’t comment on the rooms, I have eaten in the brasserie however which was very good. The service could be better when it comes to ordering drinks, had to get up and ask the last couple visits. Also enjoy using the snooker room, however the table and cues have seen better days. Nearby activities: They also have a golf course, however there’s also one less than a mile away in stockwood park.

Sent multiple emails to the hotel, no answer for days, been trying to call for days on every single option but no answer for 2 weeks, just travel to the Grove in Watford, this hotel is not even 1 star for service. Rooms : 1/5 | Service : 1/5 | Location : 1/5 … More

Luxurious hotel in the most of a gold field. The hotel ground is huge and comprises several buildings so depending on where you stay, you may have to use the internal cabs to get from one place to another. Rooms: Very bog rooms, lots of space but lacked character a bit.

I haven't yet stayed at the hotel, but my first impressions of their customer service is far from encouraging. I have booked a stay in a couple of weeks time, but realised that I had put the wrong day to check in and need to amend some other details. There seems to be no clear way of doing this online. I spent 30mins on hold on the phone yesterday, before abandoning the call and I have just spent another 15mins today without getting through. I have also sent two emails, which remain unanswered more that 24 hours after sending them Noteworthy details: Very poor impression of customer service

Wonderful anniversary high tea experience, very reasonably priced, amazingly delicious, great variety including a vegetarian/vegan choice. The room is stunning and so are the gardens and building setting. A must do and, for sure, something we will repeat soon. Lintesh made our day extra especial. Food & drinks: High-tea is a must with standard and veggie choices.
