Had a problem with the the kitchen door (uPVC) locking mechanism which had failed and had resulted in the door remaining locked despite the key turning in the lock. SF came out within a few days as agreed and was on time (actually came slightly earlier than anticipated on the morning). SF had sorted the problem changing the mechanism and also changing the barrel case that had been bent out of shape over the years potentially with the door being misaligned over the years and which may have caused the issue. All was done and the door back to perfect working order within 20 mins or so. Steve was very friendly and professional. Whilst paying for a kitchen door to be fixed just before Christmas isnt ideal (never a good time to pay for such things) the price Steve charged for coming out and fixing was very reasonable and I thought a fair price. Wouldn't hesitate to use SF's services again if necessary although obviously I hope I don't need too! Thanks 👍

I called Stephen due to a fault with my front door lock and received excellent service. Punctual, professional, friendly and efficient, and able to explain the problem so that even I could understand, he definitely knows his stuff. He had the problem sorted in next to no time, and adhered carefully to social distancing rules whilst doing so, keeping us both safe. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, quality (but also reasonably-priced) locksmith I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him. I’ve kept his number in my phone for peace of mind in case I ever needed it again, and he would definitely be the first call I made if I had any problems. Problems with locks, that is, I wouldn’t go to him with medical problems, he’s not a doctor. Though he could probably turn his hand to that too, given half the chance.

After my son having problems locking and unlocking is UPVC door. I rang S Fretwell and Sons who advised us over the phone what the the issue was. On the day we had arranged the visit they rang to say they were on there way. I am really pleased with the repair work carried out as the door is now better than when it was installed. They also charged what they had quoted with no additional charges. We would have no hesitation in contacting them again if we had any further needs and would definitely recommend their services
