I have always wanted to own a Defender 90 and recently the time was right to buy one - before starting out on my search I asked James and LRXS for some advice on what to look for. Without asking for anything, he spared time to run me through the pro's and con's, likely costs and gave clear expectations on what buying an old Defender would mean (showing me other examples in the garage). This advice was invaluable in itself!...and after finally finding a Td5 that felt right, I brought it straight to them for diagnosing and creating a plan of action for getting it back to top condition. James is hugely knowledgeable and was clear on quoting for the work - they also send through videos that help show you any problems and what needs to be done. Work started with rebuilding the transmission/transfer box and new clutch and they were able to loan a Freelander during the week they had it, calling to discuss options for repair and parts as they went. They are keen to focus on ensuring longevity in their work, which isn't always the cheap or quick answer, but you know where you stand and this honesty has made me feel far more comfortable in using them. With the truck back, the work they have done is first class. I have already made plans to bring the Defender back for the next set of work/repairs in the new year! Can't recommend these guys enough! James and the team recently replaced the cambelts on my Discovery4. This is my first Discovery and I was looking for a local company that I can trust to maintain the vehicle. I wasn't disappointed! These guys know all Land Rovers inside out! and their experience helped put right some issues that had gone undiagnosed by the previous owners, improving power and fuel efficiency. This was all done at a reasonable cost. I will definately be using them again and recommend them 100% Update - Oct 2022 James & Adam have excelled once again! Disastrous Diesel leak, 2 days before a 1200 mile trip to Spain. I had the two truck drop it down to them on Sunday. The rocked up Monday morning and had me sorted by Lunchtime. The diesel was everywhere and they cleaned under the vehicle and all around it. Outstanding service, just cant thank them enough

Having recently acquired my P38, all my Xmas's came at once when I discovered LR-XS after experiencing my first problem with the old girl. Having had the problem with her air-suspension diagnosed and fixed, I booked her in for a complete overhaul, replacing many original tired mechanics. The result - simply fantastic! The management and team are fantastic - very knowledgable, honest, fair and efficient - I now have a local trusted regular service and diagnostic venue for my beloved old P38. Only 2 miles from my home, I can honestly say I would drive 100 miles to have her a 6 monthly once-over to ensure LR-XS is the place to have her looked after. A big thank you to James, Adam and the whole team, I will see you in 6 months (or before if she needs it). I first brought my Defender 90 in to see James back in June as it had some flickering warning light issues and was in need of some all round maintenance and attention. His idea to create a plan for future works was brought rapidly forward when it burst a brake line connector on his test drive! The warning lights issue was a huge job and they worked relentlessly on it until all the multiple contributory electrical issues were found and it could then pass it's MOT. Next was to address all the original 17 year old bushes, joints, dampers, shocks ,steering bars and to have a full service plus a new air flow sensor. The difference in driving the 90 now is unbelievable plus no oil leaks and knocks! To have such an experienced, enthusiastic and honest team to look after your car is priceless. They live and breathe Land rovers and that's all you need. Someone told me James was a 'sound guy and meticulous', so glad I listened to their recommendation! Couldn't recommend them enough! A wonderful garage to go to. James, Adam, and the team are so friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about all things land rover. Originally took my 300tdi defender in for a service and inspection to see what needed doing. Very thorough and created a plan for future works. Then, when my steering suddenly went a few weeks later, they couldn't have been more helpful. Worked out what the problem was, and got it all fixed up. They sorted out a lot of issues to do with the engine and oil leaks, and got her running far more smoothly than before. She drives like a treat now, much less noise from the engine, and no more oil stains wherever I park. They were great at sending me regular updates, including videos explaining what they were doing. Really top class service, and will be going there for all future work on my defender :) Services: Oil change, Steering & suspension repair
