FAQ

How do you ensure the health and well-being of the pets in your adoption program?

At Lowhills Animal Behaviour Consultancy and Pet Sitting, we prioritize the health and well-being of all our pets in the adoption program. Before any pet is put up for adoption, we ensure that they receive a comprehensive health examination by a licensed veterinarian. We also make sure that all pets are up-to-date on their vaccinations, and any medical issues are addressed before they are adopted. Additionally, we provide adopters with information on proper pet care and nutrition to maintain the pet's health and well-being.

What is the adoption process?

Our adoption process begins with an application that potential adopters fill out. Once we receive the application, we conduct a home visit to ensure that the pet will be going to a safe and suitable environment. If the home visit is successful, we arrange for the adopter and pet to meet, and if everything goes well, we complete the adoption process. We also require an adoption fee to help cover the costs associated with caring for the pets in our program.

What kind of support and resources do you provide to new pet owners?

We provide a variety of support and resources to new pet owners, including access to our team of experienced pet behaviourists who can provide advice on any behavioural issues the pet may have. We also offer periodic check-ins to ensure that the pet is adjusting well to their new environment and offer guidance on any issues that may arise. Additionally, we provide educational resources on pet care and nutrition to help new pet owners provide the best care for their new pet.

What is your policy on returning adopted pets?

While we do our best to ensure that each pet goes to a suitable home and that the adopter is a good match, we understand that sometimes circumstances change. If an adopter needs to return a pet, we ask that they reach out to us as soon as possible, and we will work with them to facilitate the return. We also ask that the pet is returned to us in good health and that the adopter pays a return fee.

Can you provide references or testimonials from satisfied adopters?

Yes, we are happy to provide references or testimonials from satisfied adopters. We have a section on our website dedicated to testimonials, and we can also connect potential adopters with previous adopters who are willing to share

Sophie is a just wonderful human being, we regularly foster dogs with a whole range of different needs and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with them. She’s done amazing work with one of our long term foster dogs who is extremely nervous, and continues to see her when needed to help us overcome new obstacles. She gives me regular updates when dog sitting, and pictures so I can see how relaxed they all are. I can’t recommend her highly enough!
