Had the most lovely stay at this site, facilities were spot on & very clean, the pitches well spaced out in some gorgeous locations. I had a woodland pitch and loved it. Windermere lake a short walk from site with lots to do on site such as water activities, bike hiring, play areas and a very well stocked shop. The site itself is very spacious with so many lovely walking trails and routes. I lost my bracelet and it was handed into reception when I had 0 hope of ever finding it again, just the nicest site with the most lovely staff. Highly recommend.

My family and I had a fantastic time at the Low Wray Campsite during the Bank Holiday weekend at the end of August. We stayed in their amazing tree tent, which was perfect for our family. The campsite was easy to find and located right on the edge of Lake Windermere. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was even a convenient little shop on site in case we forgot to bring something (which happened to be toothpaste for us!). As we arrived at the car park, we could already spot the tree tent just 40 meters away. There was a wheelbarrow ready to assist us with carrying our belongings. The tree tent itself was nestled between two trees in a more secluded part of the site, surrounded by other platform tents. Inside the tree tent, we found it to be incredibly spacious. There were two benches that could be folded out into beds, along with a log burner. Even my partner, who is 6 feet tall, fit comfortably on the fold-out double bed. It easily accommodated a couple and a small child. The log burner was a fantastic addition and kept the tent warm. Everything we needed to start a fire was provided, and despite my initial concern about swaying (as I usually get seasick), it was completely fine after the first few minutes. The kitchen platform was well-stocked with everything we needed, including dishes, pans, and more. It even had built-in lights and a covering in case of rain. The gas stove was easy to use and hassle-free, eliminating the need to bring extra camping equipment. During our stay, we enjoyed exploring the beautiful lakeside surroundings. We took leisurely walks around the lakes and even made a trip to the cafe at Low Wray Castle, which was just a 20-minute walk away. The campsite also offered access to the lake for open water swimming or kayaking, adding to the fun. We highly recommend a short family getaway at Low Wray Campsite. We're already planning to come back in the future. It was truly wonderful to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature.

Stayed in the Lake View Cabin for accessibility or families.Lovely clean and spacious cabin conveniently located next to the shower and toilet blocks, boat launch area and entrance. Only 3 or 4 tent pitches surround the cabin so it's relatively peaceful even during the half term period. The pics I've seen of the cabin online do not do it justice so wanted to post some additional photos. Love the facilities - bird spotting area, a clean play park, pizza van, petanque/Badminton area, lots of room for kids to play and bike. The water - when there's no blue or green algae is safe to swim

Took us in on a same-day call, magnificent spot with clean facilities, gorgeous paths to walk nearby and sights of cattle, sheep and deer. The kayak/canoe is a must! In fact it is the best part about this campsite. Amazing experience to park and walk up to the castle. Only downside is a member of reception attempted to overcharge us double the price instated in the call but luckily we had a confirmation so only paid the original amount. They were all very nice nevertheless.

Amazing place! Staff were incredibly friendly and resourceful. Facilities worked well and were spotless. Plenty of walks, with the nearby castle being very easy to get to. The campsite is a bit away from nearby towns but there's plenty of cheap transport close by to get to them quickly (ferry and buses during the day, taxis at night). The highlight for us were the views, especially when out kayaking (also available on site). We will absolutely be back to this site! Food & drinks: The shop at reception had some breakfast/snack food. They also do a few of their own breakfast items in the morning. Didn't get a chance to try the on site pizzas but I saw a few when leaving for the day and they looked great.

Just returned from a 4 night stay on a campervan pitch. Have already highly recommend this site to friends and family. The location was perfect for us. The site is quiet and secluded but you can access amenities if you want to with Ambleside and Hawkshead accessable on foot or by bike. We were extremely close to the lake which was good as we wanted access to the water for kayaking and paddle boarding, mind you some pitches are a bit further away as the site is nicely spread out. A bus service runs near by and you can also get a boat across the lake a very short walk away from the site and visit Wray castle if you wish. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the shop is good and toys and games are available for children as well as a playpark. It's good to be able to hire bikes and watersports equipment as well alough we didn't need to use this service as we had our own equipment. The facilities are all of good quality and are well maintained. The area has so much to offer for everyone making this site a great base weather you want an active holiday, sight seeing or a relaxing break in a picturesque setting. We will definitely return in the future.
