False Promises I went for an assessment 4 months ago for a C-Leg and I was told I was eligible, I waited till the end of September and no news. I was expecting to receive a new leg in September because that is what I had been lead to believe by my fitter and the physio both saying we will see you in September. I called and spoke to the relevant person only to be told I am still on the list, but it is a fluid list and I may get the new leg early next year. For reason of fitness and mental health this attitude and treatment of not just me but other service users is not acceptable. I have learnt that if you meet the criteria for a micro processor knee then the NHS in 2016 said it will fund the legs for everyone that meets it. Since I only found out about this in 2019 and have been an AKA for 25 years, I feel cheated. Having such a leg that will stop someone from falling over (most of the time) would give me and others such confidence and a new lease of life, I am only 44 am I meant to just sit down and let this opportunity pass me by. I am very disappointed in the LTCC for the lack of contact and updates regarding my situation. I would recommend to anyone that has been offered a micro processor knee to try and get something in writing and keep nagging.

They need to be open at normal hours if they want to cut down on their taxi fares. I live in Stanford-le-Hope and I noticed that I can get to Harold Wood by bus, but to arrive around 1pm. When I called them to say that I don't need a taxi and I will see them at 1pm they flatly said, no. We only make appointments in the morning. This is why your taxi fare goes up! For people that can get there, in the afternoon, and you have no appointments in the afternoon. Disgraceful and disrespectful.
