I took trip to Greece with The London School of Sailing skippering. They knew all the best ports and bays, and ensured everyone on board had a lovely time. The no shouting policy is surprising but actually really helps the whole communication process on board and ensures that everyone can be heard, it makes the experience feel much safer and calmer. We were a bit of new crew with lots of enthusiasm and our skipper patiently explained how everything was working numerous times, (lines, sails and knots repeatedly to newer crew and routes and engines for more experienced), and somehow made it both funny and clear. Despite being responsible for a large catamaran and at least 8 inexperienced crew the skipper was constantly upbeat and cheerful, and made sure everyone aboard felt welcome and had the opportunity to learn. He made space for people to move outside their comfort zones whilst making sure that it was completely safe. His Greek was good but I would double check with google translate for anything tricky. Everyone on the trip said they were grateful to have such a fun, caring and knowledgeable skipper.

I've just come back from sailing around Lefkada and the Ionian. The whole trip was great! Ruaraidh is an excellent leader, putting everyone at ease whether they are brand new to sailing or the most experienced. I have also raced with LSS at Cowes Week, and completed a race training weekend. Everyone at LSS are brilliant and I can't wait to sail with them again as soon as possible!

I recently joined for a week’s sailing around the Ionian islands and would 100% recommend LSS. As a total novice to sailing, I was reassured by Ruaraidh’s calm approach and the opportunity to learn the ropes, as well as discover a stunning way to see a new part of the world and the many beaches/waters/restaurants/bars it had to offer!

Just got back from an excellent trip to Greece with Ruaraidh and LSS. We visited some lovely places along the way thanks to Ruaraidh’s planning! Ruaraidh was cool, calm and collected as a skipper whilst making sure everyone was having a good time. Although we were on a different boat in the group, Ruaraidh was on hand to help us with the couple of minor hiccups along the way so we didn’t get left behind! Thanks for a great trip - would definitely recommend LSS’s cruises to anyone of any level of sailing. Having also raced with Ruaraidh as our skipper earlier in the year I’d encourage anyone wanting to get more into the racing side of things to sign up with LSS too!

Ruaraidh is incredibly knowledgeable and generous in sharing his expertise and creates a safe but fun learning environment for sailors of all levels as well as a great opportunity to meet other like minded individuals.
