Our instructors have years of experience teaching students of all levels and ages, from beginners to advanced pianists. We are dedicated to helping our students achieve their goals and develop their piano skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.

What teaching methods do you use?

At London Piano Institute, we believe in a personalized approach to teaching. Our instructors work with each student to develop a customized lesson plan that meets their individual needs and goals. We use a variety of teaching methods, including traditional classical techniques and contemporary approaches, to ensure that our students receive a well-rounded education.

How long are your lessons and what is the cost per lesson?

Our lessons are typically one hour long, although we can also offer 30-minute and 45-minute lessons upon request. The cost per lesson varies depending on the instructor and the length of the lesson. Please contact us for more information on pricing.

Do you provide materials or do I need to purchase them separately?

We provide all materials needed for our lessons, including sheet music and other instructional materials. However, we do encourage our students to purchase their own piano or keyboard to practice on at home.

How do you ensure the quality and sound of the pianos before they are sold?

We are not Piano Makers, we are Piano Instructors. However, we do have partnerships with reputable piano makers and retailers who provide us with high-quality pianos for our students to practice on. Before any piano is sold, it undergoes a rigorous inspection process to ensure that it meets our standards for quality and sound.

She is an amazing teacher and person in general, I took piano classes to have my time off after work and she managed to make it fun and interesting (even though it’s pretty much like learning Chinese!) So 10 out of 10, she is great! Regards, Irina

I have been absolutely loving the sessions with Sonja Joubert! Initially I was skeptical about online lessons as I thought I would learn better face to face, but surprisingly it works quite well and I don't feel like there's much difference between face to face or online now. I bought a small tripod from Amazon to put my iPad on it so she can have a full view of me and the piano which I recommend to new students! Sonja is a fantastic teacher as she has adapted to my ability, I've done piano lessons all my life so I have some sort of technique, but I never was able to get better pass beginner level. I also have ADHD so learning in a traditional overly structured way has never been my style! Sessions with Sonja are great as she knows my ability but then also bridges the gap between that and music theory while making it practical which helps me learn so much better than I usually do! She's also super encouraging and complementary and creates a really nice environment for me to play and experiment without feeling self conscious. In the past I've always felt awkward with improvising that I was doing it wrong but she always encourages or runs with it and gives me tips which is great! I really wish I had more time to dedicate to practicing outside the sessions so I can get the most out of it but I do like the pace that we do so I'm really enjoying so far! :)

Disappointing. After reading the glowing reviews I went for a trial piano lesson. My teacher was super friendly and knowledgeable, however I was quite surprised she hadn't read any of the information that I had filled in online about what I wanted out of the lessons. The main issue though was zero sound-proofing which meant that I could hear opera singing and piano clearly from the room next door for the duration of my lesson, doing any aural exercises would have been impossible. The room and piano didn't match the amazing photos on the website - piano quite dusty and old. EDIT - since posting this review, my feedback has been handled swiftly and very professionally, and I was told they're in contact with the landlord about sound proofing so hopefully things improve.

I can’t believe how much progress I’ve made in a year! Laura is a fantastic teacher and I’m very grateful to have been taught by someone so patient and enthusiastic. If, like me, you played piano as a child and then stopped but wish you could go back, I would definitely recommend this place - there is no judgement whatsoever and so much support.

I’ve started as a complete beginner! In 3 weeks only, Arina helped me read and play piano. Now, I’m learning to play my favorite piece.
