It is the worst experience ever!!!!!!!!! I am writing this email to share my CBT experience with Sebastian at London motorcycle training in WoodGreen. 1. Training session starting late: The training session used to start at 8 am, but as Sebastian ask some learners to go back home to change boots, we started around 8:30 am and everyone should wait there, which is 30mins later than normal. 2. Inefficient management: In the training session, I am the only learner learning manual motorcycle, the other three are learning scooters, so Sebastian has to spend double the time explaining the functionality which wastes lots of time for all students. It also leads to a dramatic delay in the training. I believe London motorcycle training needs to arrange the training schedule in a more proper way. 3. Not enough support: CBT is a training rather than a test, I don’t think instructor Sebastiane provide enough support to learners. As this is my first time taking the manual CBT, Sebastiane ask me at the beginning “Do you want to change to a scooter which is easier to pass”, as I want to get my full A so I choose to continue learning the manual. Sebastian only explains how to switch gears verbally and lets me start to ride and do a U-turn. Thanks to my previous experience riding a motorcycle in my home country, otherwise I think he probably will send me back home in the first hour. As most of the learners come here only to renew their CBT, so before the lesson Sebastiane already think all of the learner can ride easily and doesn’t provide enough support to the new learner. As today is not the first time for three students to take CBT, Sebastiane did not treat me patiently enough. 4. Let learner fail easily: Sebastiane finally fails my CBT because he thinks I did not do well with the low-speed eight turns. Yes, honestly I do need more practice to be fully proficient with this skill. But I don’t think Sebastiane provide the necessary support to the student. I only did low-speed eight turns twice, and after I finished the second time, he said nothing and we moved on to the next subject. Again, I think Sebastiane expect all his student to have rich experience and also finish all subject perfectly within 5mins practice, which I believe is not the purpose of CBT. As CBT is a TRAINING, not a TEST. Even though I have some experience riding a manual motorcycle before, I can still easily be sent back home at a CBT, I could predict that most of the learner who rides for the first time cannot get a pass by Sebastian, as he thinks of himself as an examiner rather than an instructor. 5. Bad time management: We finished our morning session at 12:45, and I was told by Sebastian I have to go home as I cannot pass the low-speed eight turn. I was very shocked as I only practice it twice. So I request more time to practice, but he rejected it as he said today’s session has already been delayed, even though the delay is not caused by me. So I have to spend another 190 pounds and a whole day to take the CBT again.

Not a good experience. Felt like Motorbike test day rather than Basic Training. Expecting beginner motorist to behave like a seasoned road user seems a bit much. DVSA officer being present didn't help things as the instructor herself seemed nervous. Im not the most confident rider but I suppose nobody is in the beginning of their motoring journey. Feel far less confident using the road now than I felt this morning. Seems like I should have about 30h of riding time with instructor and passed theory test to pass CBT today. Effectively put me off pursuing motorcycle license.

Had a splendid day with Keith ridding in North London. Highly qualified CBT teacher. Arrive nice and early cause the place can be a bit tricky to find. Aim for the new river sports centre.
