FAQ

How does your organization prioritize inclusivity and intersectionality within the LGBTQ+ community?

At the London LGBTQ Community Centre, we prioritize inclusivity and intersectionality within the LGBTQ+ community by actively seeking out and engaging with diverse individuals and groups within the community. We strive to create a safe and welcoming space for all, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, ability, age, or any other characteristic. We also work to center the experiences and needs of those who are most marginalized within the community, such as trans and gender non-conforming individuals and people of color.

What steps does your organization take to ensure the safety and well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals who engage with your services or programs?

We take the safety and well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals who engage with our services or programs very seriously. We have policies and procedures in place to address any instances of discrimination, harassment, or violence that may occur. We also provide resources and support for those who experience such incidents. Our staff and volunteers are trained to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, and we regularly seek feedback from community members to ensure that we are meeting their needs.

What are the available facilities and equipment at your recreation center?

Our recreation center offers a variety of facilities and equipment for community members to enjoy. We have a fitness center with cardio and strength training equipment, as well as a pool and sauna. We also have indoor and outdoor sports courts, such as basketball and tennis courts. Additionally, we offer classes and programs in dance, martial arts, and other activities.

What is the capacity of your village hall?

Our village hall has a capacity of 250 people. It is a spacious and versatile venue that can be used for a wide range of events, such as weddings, parties, and community gatherings.

Are there any restrictions on the type of events allowed in the village hall?

While we strive to accommodate a variety of events at our village hall, there are some restrictions on the type of events that are allowed. We do not permit events that promote hate speech, discrimination, or violence, or that violate local laws or regulations. We also reserve the right to refuse any event that we believe may pose a risk to the safety or well-being of our community members.

Amazing place to relax, unwind and read and work if needed. I’ve been in a number of times for group meet ups and to relax with a book, and they are super welcoming. They serve teas and coffees and have some comfy chairs and sofas. Great location on the south bank with the Tate Modern just over the road.
