After paying £49 (£50) for a wowcher voucher, I attended for my Keratin protein hair treatment on the 15/05/23. Unfortunately, I was 13mins late due to traffic and poor satnav direction. On arrival was greeted by the owner (Farah) who immediately told me I had to pay £35. She said Wowcher does not pay her a lot so she needs to get more money from the clients. She said my hair is afro and long. (My hair is curly & shoulder length). She said that's for being late also, asshe has to cancel other appointments. (The salon was very quiet apart for 2 clients for massages) We had a heated discussion about this and I told her I did not have any more more and why is she charging me so much extra. She said if I pay her the full amount, she would not redeem my voucher so that I can ask wowcher for a refund. But when I told her there's no guarantee wowcher would refund my £50 & I had little cash on me, she redeemed the voucher and then told me if I did not pay her the £35 she would not be able to do my hair. I was very angry but felt as I had travelled so far I had better pay the money to get the keratin treatment. Once I paid the extra £35 by cash & card, Farah became much friendlier to me and did my hair. Im not sure what priduct she used. She even tried selling me some other products that were very expensive. I felt this was the worse hair appointment I had, i ended up paying a total of £85 for a £49 Wowcher deal. This is quite unacceptable and disappointing. Im not sure if Wowcher is aware of this practice. I would not be going back to that salon and want to warn others about this experience. I know Farah would deny my story as ive seen she's done with other negative reviews. She was even trying to get me to write a good review by standing over me to give good review before leaving the salon. I am not lying about my experience, it is the honest truth. I must admit my hair does look straighter and Farah was friendly in the end, but I do not accept having to be pressured & coersed into paying all that extra money.
