I'm a member of Totnes Tennis Club and keen to explore leagues outside of our club to further develop my game. Playing the Devon Closed seniors over the next couple of weeks. Started playing singles with a very good player at Cary Park Tennis Club. Shaun.

I've been wondering whether to leave a review about this organisation for a while, as I used to enjoy playing the leagues. However, I've just not been comfortable after my last experience. I was injured at the start of the last League and was unable to play. I informed all league members of that. One player was very keen to player despite my injury. He apparently thought we had agreed to play (I'm still unsure how) and he sent me since very abusive messages when I didn't show up. I raised the matter with the league organisers and WhatsApp. The league organisers registered a walkover against me and told me that they had reminded the other player 'to remain polite and courteous at all times' (these messages was laden with swear words). WhatsApp blocked the player and took issue with their account for breach of policy (or so they told me that they took it that seriously). So overall, I can't recommend this league and I won't go back to play there.

A good way to meet local players to play with. A bit hit and miss at times (forgive the pun!), but persisting results in forming a group that you can rely on for a good hit.
