    Sting was Amazing!!!!

I was lucky enough to visit The Live Theatre this week. Sting was there for an intimate charity performance and he also took part in an interview there to celebrate 50 years of the theatre. The theatre is a small, beautiful, and very special place, seating only 160/170 people. From the outside of the theatre, you would never know this little place of magic existed. The staff are all approachable, friendly and very helpful. They kept us informed of what was happening from start to finish and nothing was a problem to them. Communication was spot on. Alison Nicholson preplanned, planned and organised the event with so much detail, thought and effort and the result for us, as lifelong Sting fans was the best experience we have ever had. Thank you Alison. I know that all of the fan club members feel the same, so thank you for all your hard work. We appreciate it so much. Jack McNamara who interviewed Sting, did an amazing job. It was a relaxed, informal and interesting chat as well as being funny, emotional and intimate. Sting, who supports the theatre, was clearly chilled out and enjoying himself. His choice of songs for this event were perfect for his home town and life story. Michele McCallum and Jacqui Kel were so friendly and approachable when we were waiting for the professional photographer to take our photo with Sting. This part was relaxed, well organised and good fun. The room was a perfect size for chatting to the other people attending the event, yet intimate too. The buffet and drinks were great. The bar and catering staff were lovely people too. They served people quickly and in a friendly manner. The bar was really busy, but they handled it so efficiently. Again, nothing seemed too much effort for them and they seemed to genuinely care about people having a good night. This very special venue needs to stay in the community. It has so much to give and is the perfect place for up and coming actors, musicians and artists to start up. The sound, lighting and seating were all perfect too, and just added to the whole experience. For anyone visiting Newcastle, I would highly recommend visiting the Live Theatre. I feel so grateful and lucky to have been part of this event. I have loved Sting and his music for over 40 years. To be only a few feet from him and his guitar, have the chance to speak with him and a photo in this beautiful, small theatre is something I will never ever forget. I smiled, laughed, cried and had goosebumps. Not something you get in bigger venues. Thank you Live Theatre. Keep doing what you do. X

Love it if we Beat Them is their current production and you can't beat a better night out. Excellent acting, script, and production. You need to see this! I hope it transfers to the West End or at the very least, that it is recorded for digital theatre.
