Both my daughters (8 and 10) joined the Easter fashion lab. They absolutely loved it. I couldn’t believe the quality of the clothes they made. They learnt so many new skills and left with a clear understanding of issues around environmental impact and clothes production. Astrid and the other teachers managed the age ranges so well- it was lovely to see the children of all ages working together and helping each other out.

Hi there, we had a wonderful birthday party for our 10 year old daughter and 9 of her friends in late January this year (2023). It was all very well organised, the girls loved making their own bags which were very creative, and they got scrunchies with pockets instead of party bags. We were able to do an informal birthday afternoon tea in the Mother Cafe next door before hand. Highly recommend for a birthday party.

Little Hands is an established sewing class and Astrid is an exceptional teacher with academic and teaching qualifications. I have been her student for more than 10 years and thoroughly enjoy the adult class. It is so uplifting to be able to have the skills I have learnt at Little Hands to design and make clothes for the family. My grandchildren have learnt how to sew from the age of 5 and have been thrilled to attend the classes and make their own clothes. Alumni of Little Hands have become designers and teachers of Master classes. Astrid has an interest in sustainability and we are all re-using fabric and up cycling. It is a a transformative experience. Henrietta

My daughter had her 7th birthday at Little Hands and she had an amazing time creating her own purse with all her friends. They all thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon with the little hands team. Thanks a lot Astrid for organising such a great birthday workshop.

I am truly amazed at what my daughter has created and sewn in one week -- she had absolutely NO experience with sewing and has made a shirt, scarf, trousers, pillow, and bomber jacket (!!!). Thank you very much!

Where to start? Having purchased my daughter her first sewing machine several years ago I never thought it/ sewing/ designing would be such a massive part of our lives. Having researched the internet for local sewing clubs and opting for LHD I can safely say we made the right decision. The garments produced at the end of a 2 hour session would easily rival clothing bought in Topshop! My daughter always enjoys and looks forward to her Saturday sessions and we're returning for the 2nd term. Excellent job LHD!!
