I`ve received excellent advice from this showroom on how to coordinate colours and went for the intelligent matt finish. The decorators were very pleased working with this paint and after they left and all my furniture moved / pictures hanged etc I could easily remove any marks from the walls thanks to the intelligent matt finish!

If I could leave negative stars for the service received in this particular store (Marylebone) on Fri 18/09/2022, I would, but unfortunately, I must leave one. When entering this shop, I picked up the ‘designer’s’ Colour Album. Quite deliberately. I was fully aware that this is an expensive item. All £114 of it. At the time, a male employee of the store was serving another customer and another female employee sat behind a desk. Female employee did not bother to acknowledge my presence at all, too busy doing something on a computer to deal with an in-store customer. Upon lifting this very expensive Colour Album, male employee immediately leaves his customer to tell me to put the book down as this is “for sale” and “intended for designer’s only”. He stated to me that if I wanted to see the colours they are all the same on the colours laid out in the shop. On the face of it, there’s nothing wrong with this. However, given that this item was on display and had no sign suggesting that it was not to handled by customers, caused me some annoyance. Having already browed the online website, I was there to potentially buy this thing together with some sample pots and was fully aware of the item price. The fact that this sales adviser left his customer to specifically tell me to put the album down irked me even more. The male adviser assumed that I did not know the price of the item, or even if I was a designer after that specific product. Quite astounding really. If you do not want customers to handle an item, I suggest you either put a sign in front of said item or remove it from display where it would appear to be there to be handled. This episode might in the eyes of these employees seem trivial, but this male employees’ actions only served to embarrass me in front of his other customer, such that I felt uncomfortable and awkward remaining in this store. I’m not the sensitive type, fairly thick skinned actually but my experience in this store was nothing less than humiliating. I was made to feel rather small, such that if I were given paint for free I would not cover my walls with your stuff, irrespective of the brand name or supposed quality. I think I’ll be sticking with Farrow and Ball, or even Dulux for my paint! I always reserve judgment on customer service until I try and test out such service myself. I can now say that the service I received (or lack of it) at this branch was pathetic. This would be describing it quite generously.
