Affordable and friendly bakery - I visited the bakery today at Lower Marsh with my dog Ellie and we had a flat white and a chocolate chip cookie. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the cookie was so yummy and reasonably priced (£1.85). Ellie and I enjoyed our time there and we would definitely go back!

Used to get my weekly supply of sourdough from here but the quality has really deteriorated and probably not worth the price now. Whilst I understand that they are still trying to set up the new location and make a transition to a cafe structure, I don’t understand why do they have to compromise on quality and hygiene. 1. The new structure of picking your own loaf of bread is absolutely unhygienic. While LBP has kept tongs, I saw a well dressed couple pick up their loaves using bare hands. This is absolutely disgusting! I don’t want other people to be touching my loaf of bread. For all I know this couple might have just come from the tube and touched the bread without dirty, unsanitised hands. FYI - their toilets aren’t functional yet so obviously I don’t expect people to “wash” their hands before picking up their bread. 2. Cheese toastie/ sandwich- not worth £6.5+. It was a very normal cheese toastie and I could hardly tell the difference between the two types of gourmet cheese that they claim to have put in toastie from a regular supermarket cheddar and mozzarella mix. The toastie took a very long time to be served and inspite of that, one side was overdone while the other side was underdone. To add to all this, the toastie was served on a “KFC” plate (see photo)! Trademark infringement? 😅 A humble paper or cane fibre plate would have been a better alternative. 3. Coffee - the cappuccino was just average. The expresso was probably under extracted and it was sad that they served a “dine in”, in a paper cup instead of the ceramic mugs that were just lying on top of the expresso machine. Why make a fuss of being served coffee in a paper cup? Well it’s just physics - ceramic retains more heat (higher specific heat capacity) and hence your coffee remains warm for longer. Bottom line: won’t be visiting this place again.

While the concept of the bakery is nice, there is room for improvement with the staff. They seem to lack acknowledgement and helpfulness, giving off a sense of disinterest through blank stares. Additionally, the queue system could be better organized. Furthermore, having mountain bikes stored inside next to the seating area and random clothes piled on the bench in the customer area (presumably belonging to the staff) takes away from the overall cleanliness of the bakery. It would be expected for a bakery to have a higher level of tidiness and customer service. The products themselves are really good quality.

I absolutely love this place. The Almond Croissant from LBP has always been a firm favourite and happy that they are offering Coleman's coffee again. I would love to haven given 5 stars (which they deserve) however, the takeaway coffee experience today was very slow - a small gripe I know. For busy people, If you are in a rush and looking for a takeout coffee just be warned you may have to wait longer than expected.

I recently visited this great bakery and it’s new coffee shop in Bermondsey I was so impressed! The pastries were made with real butter and high-quality flour, and the dark chocolate was delicious. You can really taste the difference in the quality of the ingredients. It's a true local gem and I've been visiting it often since I moved to the area (before they were selling straight from the bakery premises under the bridge). The only downside is that the opening times keep changing, and the early morning opening hours have shifted from 7am to 8:30am. It's a shame that the bakery closes earlier in the day, so it's too late when I come back from work and too early when I'm heading to work. Other than that, I'm always happy with my visits to this great bakery!

Decent little space for coffee at the base of the new apartment complex. Was quite busy and a little chaotic ordering because of the London Marathon but staff were doing their best. Cheese toastie with chilli jam was as well as the everything pastry. Haven't tried the bread but all looks good. Will be back for sure as we live closeby.

Great bakery, the sandwiches are amazing, but the best treat they've got is that one Bulgarian baker, wow 😍

Update. They no longer sell bread from this location. Strangely, they’ve removed the location of their nearby cafe from google maps. So good luck finding it. So delicious! I’ve been coming here since Covid lockdown and have become a big fan. Their cinnamon bun and orange/cardamom are delicious. Their other pastries are down to taste. I really like their bread too. Unfortunately they’ve been impacted by inflation so their bread/pastries are becoming quite pricey.
