The practice is a disgrace! You call at 7.59am the practice is closed, you call bang on 8am and you're over a 100 in the queue or can't connect you as they are capacity! Trying to book online is no better!

‘All of today’s appointments have now gone’, even if you phone at 8 ‘o’ clock. I haven’t been for years but I believe GP practices get paid £155 per patient per year by the NHS even if the patients never attend the practice! Lion Health has nearly 30,000 patients on its books. The turnover of Lion Health must be at least four and a half million pounds. No wonder the NHS is in such financial dire straights! With almost 30,000 patients and only around 20 doctors (some of which may only be part-time) there simply aren’t enough doctors at the practice which would explain why it’s impossible to get an appointment to see one! To make matters worse there aren’t enough staff answering the telephones which is why patients are having to queue for so long before their calls are answered. Perhaps if GP practices, such as Lion Health, employed an adequate number of doctors who were paid to ‘see’ patients rather than to ‘not see’ patients, there would be more of an incentive and it would be easier to get an appointment! Unfortunately it seems that practice turnovers and profits are deemed more important than patients’ health. Somehow, Lion Health has been rated as ‘outstanding’, but the reviews would suggest otherwise.

Ridiculous! Have tried getting an appointment several days in a row to be met with a message telling you the phone system can't cope with the high volume of calls. Someone needs to do something as people with serious medical problems will be missed! Disgusting!

Tried to get through at 8.00 am to make appointment - ha ha! After listening to automated message was informed their queueing system was at capacity and I was cut off. Apparently, so I have been told, you need to know someone who works at Lionhealth and they will make face to face appointment for you!
