Great place to paddle but you do need to have a strong group with good skills the weir can be extremely dangerous and best avoided unless you have solid white water knowledge and good grade 3 paddling experience, At other levels a good spot to park and play or go on a nice flat paddle. Wendy is great in the pub sorts you out food & drink parking usually available if not busy. £3.00 launch fee and a nice local atmosphere in the pub to unwind after a 3hr paddle session 👍

We visited for a two-day quiet getaway, and were very satisfied with the location. The riverside views and local walks were a treat, whilst the excellent food at the local pub and friendly service added to the cherry on top! Wendy was a pleasant host and the prices were fair. Overall, the experience was very relaxing and we would recommend it to others.

Searching for a place to stay within cycle distance of York city centre. Found this wee gem. Warm welcome at this tiny camp site. Pub on site with quality grub and pub quiz!+! pizzas and other trad British menu. Only downside was 05:18 fishermen arrived rod alarms pinging and chatting on the phone woke us up. So next time I hope we can go in the quiet field. Over all recommend will visit again. £7 for camping... 💛👍💛
