Very disappointed in the state of the cemetery from the forest lane entrance regarding grass cutting... grass left to rot and not picked up... grass waste all-over the headstones, used to be a perfect cemetery but obviously the gardener's you have/ sub contractors don't give a monkeys.... not sure what's going on it needs to change!

Took a 97-year-old RAF D-Day Beach Crew veteran here to visit the graves. In 1946, when was serving on an RAF base at nearby Hambleton, an RAF mosquito came down tragically on the North Yorkshire Moors, and he had to recover the badly affected bodies from the tragedy. One of them was interred here and this is the first time he has managed to visit to pay his respects. And whilst cemeteries are supposedly rarely nice places to visit for obvious reasons, this one is extremely well cared for. Maybe I was imagining it but there was a very benign atmosphere throughout our visit.
