Completed my CBT with Dave as my instructor, very positive experience. In my honest opinion Dave was great in taking us through challenging areas (for a beginner such as myself with zero experience on a motorbike let alone a geared one) where you yourself can observe and potentially experience the potential hazards you may come across in everyday riding. This is much better than going down a bog standard straight road where you may trick yourself into a false sense of safety with limited awareness.

Had a great experience doing my CBT course with them. Dave, our instructor, was brilliant - very knowledgeable, friendly, and with a good sense of humour. A good amount of time was spent doing the bike manvouvres inside before hitting the roads. I would definitely recommend Lightning Motorcycle, especially Dave.

Absolutely fantastic training. Passed my MOD2 first time. Considering I never ridden a motorbike. Now in my late 40s I decided to learn. Very professional training, progress report provided during training, very helpful to work on things to improve on. Very patient and a great sense of humour. Big thank you to Keith, Carl, Gordon and Becky for being patient with me. Now ready to purchase my big boys bike. Thank you so much.

If you have no idea about riding a motorcycle and want a place that will genuinely support you...this is it and Dave is your man. He's an amazing guy and instructor with the perfect balance of humor (if sarcasm is your cup of tea) and seriousness! I booked my introductory session at this school with ZERO experience and knowledge of being on a bike, I never even owned a bicycle lol! The session was 45 minutes and my instructor was Dave, he was direct and confident in my ability giving me the confidence to ride a geared Honda CBF 125cc within minutes! Following that I booked my CBT...yesterday I PASSED first time! Again, with Dave! The CBT wasn't simple or as easy as I had anticipated, I was struggling a little with the clutch on the geared bike even though I'd been on this previously, it may have been the pressure of being the ONLY person/woman who picked the geared bike whilst everyone else was an experienced rider and chose the automatic! After some practice, I was given the option to try the automatic Honda 125cc because my left hand on the clutch just wasn't cooperating, may have been taking the day off for bank holiday lol I had a few minutes practice and was still struggling! Being 5ft 1 and heavy on the throttle just wasn't helping me... At one point I felt like it wasn't my day and maybe I should just come back another day. Dave didn't see this as an option, he took me aside, had a talk and told me how much he believed in me as I'd been on the geared bike previously and wanted me on the road with my CBT certificate by the end of the day! He believed in me was super patient and even spent some extra time to support me. After some time, it was time to get in the road and although I was nervous, the moment we were on the road everything had taken a full 180, I was confident, doing all the maneuvers and completely forgot how much I had struggled on the training site! Dare I say it, I actually enjoyed being on the road! I'm a car driver so I think my knowledge and experience on the road really helped me here. I want to say a big THANK YOU to Dave at lightening, honestly your patience, humour and faith in me is the reason I have my CBT today! You drilled the importance of safety and though some may find your assertiveness a little harsh, you're actually saving us all by reminding us of the reality of riding on these roads! I'll be coming back for the full licence soon and I'll be sure to ask for you again! If you're reading this and not sure whether riding or a CBT here is the thing for you, then book an introductory session with Dave first!

Got my CBT on my first try. MY Instructor was Dave. I have to say Dave is one of nicest person I have met. He care about students safety. Safety is no one priority. He might be strict at times but it honestly a nice guy. Overall had a good experience.
