    This is a place to be avoided at all costs. Now, that may be easy for me to say as I have survived the oppressive regime of this draconian institution and subsequently gone on to rebuild my life. The Lighthouse, or Shitehouse as I prefer to call it can claim no part in helping me to do so. As an investigative journalist I feel that it is my responsibility to name and shame the people who ran this excuse for a caring Christian organisation throughout my time there and expose them as being the fraudsters they are. If I could possibly award 10 billion negative stars I would do so; such is the systemic failure of this business that, although claiming to be a not-for-profit organisation allows staff to cream off money paid in by residents as what they [Lighthouse Management] call the ‘Service charge.’ (Currently £40 per week from each resident’s benefit payment.) Service charge payments are kept in the petty cash tin and it was common practice for staff members to ‘dip-in’ to this fund to pay for meals, fuel for their vehicles and shopping to name but a few. The only requirement being that anyone pilfering money should leave a note in the cash tin explaining where the money had gone. HALLELUJAH! PRAISE DE LORD! Apparently saying that makes it OK. During the time I had the misfortune to be involved with The Lighthouse I witnessed members of staff intentionally withholding prescribed medications that were held in trust in the office. Medication dispensation records were falsified, often to avoid detection of misuse of drugs by employees. None of the employees at the time of my residency had any formal training or qualifications in safe handling of medicines. Occasionally courses were provided to ensure that employees were made aware of their responsibilities , for example regarding the treatment and medication of service users, however, Darren Jones who was then the manager did not attend the course he had been assigned to. Instead he simply copied the answers given to him by a member of staff, Luke Docran Hardacre. I checked Hardacre’s answers; the answers that were copied by Jones and immediately became concerned. As my mother had been a pharmacist I had attained a modicum of understanding as to the safe handling of prescription medications and immediately brought this to the attention of the company that was responsible for the provision of certification. I was informed that they could not respond to my ‘unsubstantiated claim.’ had been misappropriated. The certificates issued by the company were not only not legally binding but were not required. Despite claiming to be ‘in recovery’ themselves, several staff members remained to be ‘bang at it’ as they say during my stay. When I raised this issue with so-called management I was told that I wasn’t conforming to the rules and that I had 1 month to vacate their premises. In other words I wasn’t toeing the party line. When entering the Lighthouse as a client, I had made the conscious decision not to go into much detail about my employment history as I believed that it was of no relevance or consequence, however, a member of staff somehow discovered recordings of some of my previous radio programs that had been published on the internet. Yet another nail in the coffin so to speak. Shortly after this revelation I returned to my accommodation one evening to find that the hard drive from an ancient computer that I had been given, had been removed, however , when questioned about this, no one from the Lighthouse knew anything about it or so it was claimed. I informed the manager that I believed this to be targeted, deliberate theft and that I intended to report the matter to the police. I firmly believed then and do so to this day believe that this action had been initiated by Lighthouse staff who believed that I may have some damming evidence against them and records of their questionable activities. I did and still have documentation in my possession but wasn’t so stupid as to leave it for them to find. Christian organisation- my arse!

    Useless people reported to charity commission do nothing for women in homeless crisis. Dont care about our welfare after the phone assessment never call us back to offer a room, despite chasing them many times.

    Awful place I tuke the person I carered for there. They would not let me in to carer for him. When I tuke out they refused to give me or him any meds a doctor had Prescribed. They were overdosing him so he was druged up. They kept his medication & record large payments from the council and from each resident. You have to go to bible group and homes Sunday. If you don't convert they wait for you to go out and lock you out and keep your property. You are better 9ff on the street

    Totally terrible place . Try to convert people no matter what they say . Manager sacked says it all . Staff member A.M is very two faced . Park bench is better option . Stay clear . If they speak the truth God will help u anyway lol
