Absolute shambles, I’ve been trying to get my son seen for the past 4 years, his original consultant saw him once, then covid came along and screwed everything up, the consultant retired and signed him off without even seeing him for an update, I then went back to my doctor who referred him again last year and was told there is a backlog so you will have to wait at least a year, I’m still trying to get an appointment

I was really worried about this centre after reading reviews. After waiting 13months from referral to the start of testing, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff answered all my phonecalls, returned calls and emailed me when they said they would and where always compassionate. I believe the centre has changed management hands now and are dealing with a backlog from the previous management, which is a big task to take on. My daughter had her QB test and we left fully informed with supportive information and explained the next steps and access for school staff to email for additional supportive measures. We now await the diagnosis appointment but we do feel this process has been the most accessible and supportive, just for measure, we have been seeking support for our child in a different area for over 6 years waiting. Excellent service, compassionate, supportive and really knowledgable in how to best support our child.

The most awful experience on a number of occasions with their lack of professionalism, understanding & sympathy from some of the staff. Using The Lighthouse Centre will test the mental wellbeing of even the strongest minded adults. I wish anyone the best of luck if they need to use this service.

This place is unfortunately the worst I have come across in my 8 years of battling to get my child with ASD, ADHD & OCD Help. I was recently asked “if you don’t want medication what do you want from us” the dr, and I use that term lightly, thinks only medication will help my child with the fact he has not left the house in 1.5 years. Never get called back and now my child has been discharged as I dared to say the appointment was a waste of time. This place needs shutting down as all it does is give parents and their children false hope of help.

Unfortunately I wish there were two parts to review as the the occupational therapist has been brilliant . However after waiting two years on the list with a follow up with Community Paediatrics not the same person as I saw last time.My appointment that was as clear as mud. I came home confused, nothing has been explained and I feel none the wiser. I will have to follow up with going to a private clinic and finally get some answers.
