Better off staying at home. The old library was actually a library, where you could quietly study. Here you get teenagers who come to socialise. You can see they won't make much of their life and they're just killing time in a library. It's quite pathetic.

The staff is very helpful, it has just a few minutes from self online joining to get a membership card from the counter. There has self-service printing too, it accepts files from scanning, USB stick and mobile phone. It is very convenient and cost affordable. But it seems the varieties of book and pulisher and author are not so much.

Definitely worth a visit. Enjoy a free view of Birmingham from the 3rd floor terrace and the 7th floor secret garden. Also the interior itself and the Shakespeare room on the 9th floor are nice. Good place to bring kids as the inside looks like a dark sky with stars.
