I had a very disappointing experience with LG after the sub-woofer, a component of my soundbar and subwoofer combo suddenly failed at 13 months old 1 month out of warranty. Curry’s PC World totally disinterested and told me to contact LG direct. Easier said than done, their telephone queuing system is overloaded so expect a long wait, you can also elect for a call-back which in my case took several tries. Emails are peculiarly overcomplicated with this firm who use a sort of pro forma system, I exchanged four emails before I suddenly received a call back giving me a repair fee of £180-75 without seeing the item. Their protocol means you pay up front, the item is then collected by their courier within 3-4 days, with an estimated time for repair and return within 14 days. Eventually I decided to bite the bullet and have the repair done by LG as other electronic specialists I contacted in my area simply refused to look at it as not worthwhile. LG’s chosen courier initially tried to pick up my item from the wrong address but I was able to track them on my phone, call them and direct them to my home address. The courier took a week to deliver the item to LG who acknowledged receipt to me in a text, likewise when the item was despatched after repair I received a text, followed by another from the courier giving me a delivery date. dpd actually delivered it however two days earlier than they stated and again to the wrong address some distance away in a road with a similar name. I was able to identify the property from their delivery picture using Google Street view. Got in my car, drove several roads away and saw my parcel with my name and the wrong address sitting in the porch. I simply picked it up and brought it home. Having contacted dpd to complain, I was told that the item was picked up by them already wrongly addressed by LG. Needless to say, I am now not a fan of LG, either the company and the customer care dept or their products, I will not be buying LG in the future.
