  We have been wanting to write a review of our experience for Nov 2022. Unfortunately, my brother (due to his negligence) didn't open the door 3 times to the surveyors because he was either sleeping or confused with the timings. I was desperate to get a report done as part of a probate that was due for submission in Dec. I spoke to Leo's team and insisted on giving me one more chance and they were kind enough to re-book me for the 4th time. Our report was sent promptly and we were able to submit it on time. We appreciate their time and patience with us and will consider/recommend them for future purposes if need be.

  Used them in January for my home address. They offered a competitive price and were quick to carry out the survey but they missed a roof repair which will cost me just under £5,000. Not worth the competitive price they offered. Use someone else and at least you wont be let down later down the line.

  Avoid them !! Approached them upon recommendation from a friend despite getting much cheaper quotes elsewhere. Paid for a Building + CCTV and Aerial footage survey on 10th December specificlly asking how soon it can be done , the email responses didnt make it clear how soon , 2 days later i got a mail stating that a survey has been booked so i assumed all was in order but turns out it was just the CCTV drainage survey that was done that day with the main building survey still pending. Upon followup i found out that they still havent booked the main building survey with the agents and upon enquiry i was told that they could only do it in the first week of Jan ! So as it turns out, from the day of booking, it would take them 4 weeks to carry out the survey and then another 10 days after that to give me a written report , appreciate it is busy times but waiting for 38 days to get your survey report is not ideal when you are rushing to buy a house . Dislike the fact that the time lines werent made clear as i would have gone with another provider , have cancelled now and they wont see my business again. Have to go through the trouble of finding anohter surveyor now :( very disappointing communication and they were quite rude on the phone .

  We had a survey done in june by Leo we were very disappointed as he said in the report to allow £1000 - £1500 to replace some roof tiles we have had 3 roofer look at roof and without using a ladder (as he did) are quoting 30k+ as over 40% of tiles are damaged or broken al have said the same thing surveyor should have said the roof needs replacement when I spoke with Leo his reply was "what do you want me to do about it " an apology would have been nice ! . The construction of the property he said was timber framed with wooden floor to first floor when in fact its concrete frame and block and beam floors the owner who was present at time of inspection said he was at the property under 30mins the owner said another buyers surveyor spent 4hrs at the property .All in all very worrying as this was carried out by the owner of the firm.

  We were hesitant about going with Leo Horsfield due to some of the reviews we read, but they offered a competitive survey price. We had a survey by Sean Gregson on an old property in need of renovation. He completed a thorough and detailed assessment, wrote a timely report and was accessible by phone to answer any questions. We would recommend him to friends and family.

  AVOID AVOID This service was terrible. They missed obvious damp and electrical issues. Staff are nice when trying to get business and then awful as soon as they’ve got it. They knew I needed a survey fast and decided to book it in but not tell the seller till the day before. So he could not attend. Then they missed damp and electrical issues. Their complaints procedure is horrific. They are rude to me when trying to ask for an update.

  The company failed to provide the services to the customer to the standard to be reasonably expected by the average person Firstly, the expensive structural report sent out contained pictures of somebody else's house. Secondly the Structural Survey missed important defects on a property before purchase which will cost thousands of pounds to rectify. CEDR, which is an independent dispute agent, stated that 'The company failed to provide the services to the customer to the standard to be reasonably expected by the average person'. Even with this outcome Leo Horsefield surveying have not offered any sort of compensation. We are currently proceeding with court action. UPDATE: Leo horse fields failed to acknowledge their mistake even though an independant dispute agent found them to be negligent. Due to high court costs I was forced to get the expensive repairs done myself. Be wary of this company!

  I would advice anyone to avoid this company. It has been a terrible experience from start to beginning . Surveyor was extremely rude and unprofessional . Had to call the company a number of times and they are clearly not able to manage the staff they employed. Avoid avoid avoid.

  I explained to Leo Horsfield Surveyors that I was in a rush to conduct a survey, and needed one as soon as possible. I was told I would have one the following week Monday and it was penciled in, however when I called my estate agent, they had not been informed of the meeting. Despite my calling to Leo Horsfield a number of times, I was assured the survey would go ahead on the Monday, and that this is usual practice for them to call up in one go, to book all the surveys in (despite it making no sense that they were able to confirm the date already). It was only later I heard that the meeting was scheduled for the following day (which was too late in my case) but Leo Horsfield only informed me of this late on Friday evening, when I could not have got another surveying company to get in any faster. After a long discussion with Leo Horsfield's complaints team, they offered £150 compensation for the errors made. I was not happy with the compensation however, it did help recuperate some of my losses.
