I was skeptical due to the reviews but the place is cute and the food was delicious. Only had one weird encounter with the waiter when we asked for some cheese to add to a dish and they just said no and walked away.. but was expected per the reviews. Other than that it’s a cute place and staff was nice besides that instance.

Such a weird place. I really tried to love it. The quality of produce & cooking is excellent, you can tell that owners and cooks care about food. The operation side of things is a complete 180. I had lunch here several times (dine-in and takeaway) and shopped for dry pantry staples & veggies a number of times. The energy in the shop & cafe always felt off as if my presence was burdensome. A real shame.

Very rude staff who bark at you. The lady manning the shop said only one customer was allowed in the shop but there was no sign stating this.

Water was served 20min after I sat down. Food wasn’t even served hot, the rude lady (we all know who she is lol) said: so you mean you want me to heat this up? I m like 😅 Guys it’s not cool to be rude to customers and have bad service in a restaurant. Get a life lol

Everything that is wrong with East London. Extremely rude staff, insane practices and extortionist prices - a very stressful experience all round. Boycotting completely despite living round the corner and wanting to shop locally. Firstly, selling a tiny portion of takeaway curry for £14 should be a crime. Whilst it was yummy the cost for portion size is outrageous. Secondly, whilst the practice of using re useable, eco packing such as a tiffin tin is a nice idea - they basically stole money off us executing it. We were told that the tiffin tin was a £2 deposit per meal - making it £16 per tiny curry rather than £14. How they can list it as £14 for a takeaway and then charge you for the container is beyond me but anyway. They asked us to please make sure to return it after we had used it and took our names and number. We took it home, enjoyed it and returned to work - as surely the vast majority of people who use this takeaway service must do. The cafe closes at 4pm and our working day ended at 6pm - so we were unable to return it that day. We returned it the next day at 1:30pm when we were able to take a break again from work. The owner had called us 3 times extremely stressed. When we asked for our deposit back she lied and said it was a £2 ‘borrowing fee’ rather than the deposit she had stated before. No amount of quirky ‘eco’ pretension is worth the stress and extreme cost of visiting this cafe.
