If you're at all interested in our industrial past then it's definitely worth a visit. Good emphasis on the people that worked in places like this and their living conditions. It feels like there is far more emphasis put on it being a local education source than a visitor attraction, especially as it doesn't have a proper cafe, an urn with instant coffee or tea bags, with small packets of biscuits is all that's on offer, but it was very cheap and enough for what we wanted on our 1.5 hour stay. We would have stayed longer but the grounds were closed due to flood alleviation works.

It's been a while since we were last there, before Covid. Rainy day, so took the girls. Still interesting & thought provoking. Some areas need a refresh & some areas closed, but a great place to go. Part if the appeal is that there's no one hardly there, but that is also a shame, as people should be there, though I like a museum where you have space... staff friendly & helpful. We will be back again.
