The staff are so rude that deal with the calls (that's when they actually answer the phones) I have no idea how they got a job that involves dealing with the public. The Inspectors just show up when they feel like it and not tell you if they don't complete the visit you had booked in. Shocking service by all.

Despite being short on resources, like every department in Local government, the staff when they can't answer the phone, reliably call back, if you leave a message and sometimes from a missed call, and still offer a next day site inspection. I have found the office staff to be courteous and knowledgeable in all my enquiries and giving me accurate advice and lead times. Great work in these tough times. Agent/Builder.

Rude staff on phones cut you off when you've been waiting 45 minutes each time to get through. Dont turn up for appointments and appalling organisation.

Don’t answer the phone, building inspectors are inconsistent and some refuse to answer the phone when you are waiting for them. Not helpful at all when you have a project with a completion date.

Knowledgeable, sympathetic and helpful are just some of the words I would use to describe Leeds Building Control (LBC). Had an urgent situation involving the sale of our house where some non-compliant windows had to be signed off. LBC gave straightforward advice and arranged for an inspection as soon as was possible. Really appreciated their approach and the sale could have fallen through without their help.
