I contacted lea valley initially regarding issues I was having with food aggression, lead pulling and an anxious newfoundland that is scared of everything, Winston must have been a dog in a previous life it’s the only explanation I’ve got with how in tune he is with dogs, their behaviours and how they learn.. it baffling and mesmerising. He is completely at ease with the largest of dogs.. and is unphased by barking and nervous dogs.. he makes you genuinely feel like your crazy dog is not a lost cause.. and speaking from experience when u fee like your at your wits end.. that’s your time to contact Winston and Charmaine..they have a completely non judgemental approach even when some of your actions create the negative behaviour you so desperately want to train your dog out of.. tiny our Newfoundland will be boarding with Charmaine and Winston for intense training whilst we go on holiday.. honestly I had crying nights and anxiety through the roof thinking no kennel will be able to handle my ditzy annoying newfoundland and I felt it would be even worse to put our nervous dog into one…they moved mountains even when they said they couldn’t have her.. they found a way and il be forever grateful for that, our family holiday would have been full of anxiety.. if anyone can help us it’s them. I know this is a long post… and I’m in no way connected to Winston Charmaine or lea valley dog school … I’m just a fed up dog mum that happened to stumble across the right trainers whilst desperately hunting on google… il be writing another after tinys stayed with them to let anyone reading this first review how she got on… fingers crossed for holidays as a family tiny included on the beach … living the dream ❤️

These are the BEST training school. Our lab cross had been driving us crazy during his "teenager" years and we now have learnt the best tools to work with his lab and rottie sides. Not only is he a lot calmer, but he's gone and pass his Bronze award. Can't wait to continue our training with the team 💥🔥💥

My dog Buddy came to us with a lot of behavioural issues and unfortunately, the subject of rehoming him became a regular conversation in our home. The issues we have faced with Buddy over the past 2 years, have been really challenging and frustrating and even upsetting at times. We couldnt have any visitors in our home due to his uncontrollable excitement levels or even go for a simple walk along with many other normal activities you would do with a dog. After having 4 dog trainers who were unable to help us and just when we were about to give up on our boy, we were lucky enough to find the amazing @wintrainingk9 at Lee Valley Dog Training School. We were full of constant stress, sadness and sleepless nights because we really didnt want to give Buddy away until Winston assured us that he would help. It has been 2 months and we have a completely different dog!! Buddy has calmed down so much and his behaviour around our home has improved in ways we never thought would be possible. Winston has taught us how to train Buddy ourselves and it has brought out the most amazing, happy, playful and loving dog who loves people and socialising and who we cant imagine living without. We still have a little more work to do but the mountains we have overcome have been absolutely incredible and its all thanks to Winston! I cannot recommend his services enough and he is an absolute pleasure to work with. I have recommended these guys to all of my friends with dogs who need training services Thank you for everything!

Thank you so much to Winston our dog trainer at Lee Valley Dog Training School he is the absolute best of the best when it comes to dog training, it took him 2 hours(I know this is all it took) to teach us how to deal with Brandy’s guarding issues, we set more boundaries and seriously it changed our life’s. Brandy is so much more relaxed, and no more on guard mode at all times and we can again have our post delivered, and accept any deliveries or the rubbish collected without him reacting and being in a constant state of stress from always guarding and being triggered, or even wanting to jump up at people in the park to say hallo. We have our puppy back and he is just such a joy and so chilled❤️

Our pup passed her Puppy Foundation Assessment with their help. We will continue to take our pup and can't wait for agility classes to begin. Thank you so much for all your help.

What can I say, Winston is just great and amazing. I imported a Boerboel (South African Mastiff) from South Africa at 9 months old. Pup arrived in the UK with no manners, no social skills, not house trained whatsoever and very wary of everyone in December. 3 months down the line, I have a stable and nearly well balanced dog very well trained and can even walk him off lead. Winston is the real deal.. the dog whisper. Thanks Winston for turning an unbalanced dog into a balanced house dog within 3 months.

We knew we’d be writing a glowing review but we don’t know where to start. We are so happy that we booked the 1-2-1 session. In one hour Penny went from being fearful and reactive to calm, secure, and happy (and to be honest, so did we haha). Winston armed us with the knowledge we needed to understand Penny and her reactivity and gave us the confidence to be proactive in her training rather than reactive. Towards the end of the session Penny was off lead around other dogs and it was a sight we never thought we would see. We cannot thank him enough and can’t wait to see progress, progress, progress.
