Update: While living here, the food has caused me numerous acid refluxes and my weight increased exponentially. After over 1.5 years of treatment by specialists, I could finally able to manage my health. Also, the acid refluxes eroded my teeth and getting them fixed now. I noted most of the 5 stars are fake and written by the staff of this place. Stayed at this place for two years. Pros: This place is located at the prime location and major tourists spots and transit are within the walking distance. Cons: Numerous. Below are the most critical ones. 1. The catering service is horrible. Everyone has to pay equally for the food but cooked food includes only meat (mostly beef, pork, fish). For vegetarians, it is often uncooked vegetables and there is no main course. Also, they often run out of food about 45 minutes before the scheduled catering service. 2. Racism and discrimination is very much alive in this place. People from European countries, British, Americans, and white skin people are treated as a royal and get many privileges in terms of food, space, amenities, beyond the regular rules... all brown and black skin Asians are treated as a second class citizens and they have to pay for luxuries of the whites. For example, the staff members Olive and Sue were rude and dismissive towards the non-white residents. 4. The in-house staff often do not do the required maintenance work especially work associated with non-white people. After the racism allegation they hired more brown cleaning staff. We cannot blame these all the cleaning staff because they are underpaid and overworked, did not get proper food and cannot voice their opinions. 5. The rent included room cleaning service, food, etc. and paid 1 year in advance. However, without notice they removed cleaning service. Also, often the heat breaks, food service gets cancelled for weeks, life doesn't work for months... 6. Do not believe all 4 and 5 start ratings. These ratings are given by their own volunteers and staff members. Take away: You are paying for the location only. The food and amenities do not count as they are not up to the mark. Also, think many times before joining this place if you are not a white person. It can do real damage to your mental and physical health along with loosing money!
