We visited Le Garrick for our pre-theatre dinner. Our order was taken and starters came out in good time. After waiting half an hour I asked our server how long our mains would take as our show started at 7pm. It appeared our order was not sent through to the kitchen and we were left waiting. We had no update or apology from the staff. Every single table around us had received their mains before us even though we were one of the first bookings at 5.30pm. After 15 minutes with no update our food eventually arrived completely cold. Having only 15 minutes to make it to the theatre we rushed our main courses and ate what was edible. I asked for the bill and was presented with the cheque. After explaining to the server we were not happy to pay full price given the terrible service and lack of update or apology - he simply took the bill to the manager and did not both to ask what had happened etc. The manager came back to say she had removed service charge - I do not see this as a gesture as service charge is optional. I've been to Le Garrick many times and had lovely dinners. Having brought family to this restaurant for them to experience it I can say that I will not be returning. It seems as though if you opt for the pre theatre menu you will be forgotten. They are more interested in the customers ordering from the main menu and buying bottles of wine. The lack of manners from staff clearly shows customer service has gone down hill and is not important anymore. We left Le Garrick hungry having not been able to eat our mains.

They serve frozen fish as a dish of the day. This is unacceptable, especially at the price point- £19.50 per tiny piece of frozen and not fresh sea bream. Furthermore, tables are not clean.

I always used to eat here when I've been abroad but not anymore. I used to recommend this place to American friends ..I've never met such rude waitresses. Sorry french people but being abrupt and rude is not cool anymore. It's not 1980. De Gaulle died years ago and the mental health problems Betty Blue made cool are no longer acceptable. Le Garrick used to be a french institution like le Beaujolais and the French house but it's become a parody of Karen's Diner. It's been my life mission to sell this place to everyone one I know ....but now I intend to destroy it...
