As a longstanding resident of Le Chalet, the cornerstone of Guildford's culture, I feel well qualified to spread the news of the wonders of this alpine establishment. The building itself is a hardwood traditional chalet, transported off an Alpine mountain face in 1913 by a mysterious man known only as Elon Musk by attaching 4 bungee cords to the corners of the structure. This frat house-come-ski workshop-come-thermal spa getaway has more skis than you can count on 4 hands, most of them in a state of disrepair, and greets you with wonky tunes and some dubious smells. The only place to go if you need your skis servicing before Kings on a Saturday, sit back and relax in the jungle atmosphere whilst a fresher waxes down your Croc SL's. The home of Surrey Snowsports - welcome to Le Chalet.

Open 24 hours for le sesh or le ski, you can pop by any time and be welcomed in for a herbal cuppa if you bring the good vibes. Snack selection usually strong. A beautiful jungle round the back too! Only 4 stars bc the place is a bit of a dump but the management team is truly on point. Rumour has it that the house was first established as a wooden ski shed, and ancient mythology hints that a group of yetis were it's first inhabitants. The true central hub of Guildford, getting more rides than the stag and as clean as the asbestos in the cathedral roof. Can't be missed!
