One of my favourite theatres! Welcoming ans friendly staff, and they have a fantastic array of shows throughout the year, with real evidence of a lasting commitment to diversity. The queue at the bar can get long, but that's hardly unique and the staff do their absolute best to always keep things moving.

The Lawrence Batley Theatre is a good place to experience live theatre. It's conveniently located in the centre of Huddersfield, about 10 minutes' walk from the train station. Outside, there's a nice courtyard with tables and seating, for a pre-show drink. There's a nice bar inside, too. The auditorium is impressive: the seating, on three levels, is comfortable, with excellent views and acoustics. The staff, especially front-of-house and box office, are friendly and helpful.
