    I was previously satisfied with the service received from this practice until recently when a male receptionist answered my call. He was very obstructive and unhelpful. He told me that I should go to the emergency department at the hospital, even though it wasn’t an emergency that I had. When I pointed out that it wasn’t an emergency, he told me that I didn’t need an appointment at the surgery then. He hung up on me, even though I was very polite asking for an appointment.

    Cannot rate this doctors highly enough, they have always been very accommodating and although they are always extremely busy and generally over booked and understaffed, they have always seen me and especially my young boys when needed. Today I had an appointment for my eldest for suspected ringworm, took my youngest along too who's been a bit poorly the last couple of days but we thought it was generally a sick bug, the doctor took the time to examine them both and determined they both had scarlet fever. Cannot thank the doctor enough for taking the time and care in an already overbooked and exhausting day for her.

    I am very sorry to have to change my 5 star review I gave 4 years ago down to 3 stars now. There are good and able people working here, I have been lucky enough to meet them when my own GP is unavailable. Hence 2 stars rather than none. However, the majority of my visits in recent years with him have been unsatisfactory, in terms of agreeing a medical diagnosis, or a plan to improve different ailments. ( Heaven forbid you should mention more than one symptom, related to the same cause or not ). Other unfortunate incidents have not helped, over and above his last comments of "running out of ideas ! "( which I took to mean do not call again any-time soon). Last week he cancelled a difficult to get in person appointment an hour before it, by calling me for a useless 2 minute chat. On another occasion, an almost amusing sit-com episode happened when I had a 5.15 p.m in surgery appointment with him one evening, with about 3 others already in the waiting room on arrival at 5.00 p.m. One by one they were called by a different doctor and by 5.30 pm I was on my own. I often wait 30 minutes or so, but at 5.50 pm having seen no-one for a long time I asked the receptionist if she knew how long he might be. She looked surprised and said she saw him leave just after 5.00 p.m and that the other patients were seen by someone else who had also left. I received no apology of acknowledgement of this and never mentioned it until now. See my earlier review below, sadly I feel I cannot justify it now and was surprised it was still visible. My positive review from 2018. 5 star "I feel obliged to write a few positive words in support of the surgery, having Googled it for the telephone number and noticed a couple of quite angry reviews. I have today and most other times, been given an appointment within 3 days of requesting one. I have always found the doctors, nurses and receptionists polite, helpful and attentive which I think some patients may take for granted. Having experienced other surgeries recently with my late mother, I can assure you that ours is head and shoulders above many others in every respect. Visited in January 2018.     A GP found my phone number in his free time to call me up and shout at me because he refused to help me so I complained. I went for a very personal reason and this left me panicked whenever I see a doctor now. Avoid this GP practice, particularly Dr Lewis.

    Having recently moved into the area I can honestly say that the we have found the service here to be excellent. The Doctors we have seen have both had excellent patient manner, been very efficient, courteous and effective. Equally, the staff on the desk have also been helpful and friendly. I have unfortunately witnessed on a number of occasions patient's being, well, less than patient with the staff taking the brunt of the rudeness and hostility when it hasn't appeared necessary. I understand that the system can be frustrating but shouting is unlikely to change anything. I have given them five stars as this is the maximum allowed.
