FAQ

What is the ratio of children to caregivers in your playgroups?

Our playgroups have a maximum ratio of four children per caregiver. This ensures that each child receives individual attention and care.

What is the age range of the children in your playgroups?

Our playgroups cater to children between the ages of 2 and 4 years old. This allows for age-appropriate activities and social interaction between the children.

What safety measures do you have in place to ensure the well-being of the children?

We take the safety and well-being of the children in our playgroups very seriously. Our facilities are regularly cleaned and sanitized, and we have secure entry and exit procedures in place. All of our caregivers are trained in first aid and emergency response, and we have strict protocols for handling any medical or safety issues that may arise.

What is the daily schedule and routine for the children in the playgroups?

Our playgroups follow a structured daily schedule that includes a mix of free play, educational activities, snacks, and outdoor playtime. We believe that a predictable routine helps children feel secure and confident, and our caregivers work to ensure that each child feels comfortable and engaged throughout the day.

Are there any educational components included in the playgroups curriculum?

Yes, we incorporate educational activities into our playgroups curriculum to encourage learning and development. We focus on building social skills, language development, and early math and literacy skills through age-appropriate activities and play. Our curriculum is designed to prepare children for their next steps in education, whether that be preschool or kindergarten.

Both my children went to Laurel Way Playgroup and I couldn't recommend it enough to parents looking for a supportive and nurturing nursery. The staff were brilliant and made learning through play so much fun. They prepared the children for Primary School wonderfully and I know that I owe both my children's easy transitions to that. The environment was caring and inclusive at all times and I loved the fact that they celebrated a variety of festivals and celebrations throughout the year and learnt about their friends' cultures. My all time favourite memory is the end of year Mini Olympics where children would represent their country of origin (with their very own painted flags!) and parade like Olympians before taking part in their races. This was followed by an amazing international buffet provided by the parents. Fond memories!

A real gem. This nursery really cares for each individual child - it is a real home from home. The children learn via play and don't even realise it. They offer Spanish, Stretch and Grow sessions, nature walks, cookery, trips to theatres, Teddy Bear charity picnics, Makaton signing, and much more. Lovely tailor made outdoor space and a huge range of resources.

Excellent Nursery ! The staff are caring, the kids are happy. The learning is fun and well planned out with lots of variety to suit all children's needs. There is special attention for children with learning difficulties. Children who are exceeding their age will be stretched. There is a fabulous art room for the little Picasso's, an allotment for the garden lovers. Stretch and Grow, Spanish, Cooking lessons, Theatre outings, Mobile Library and of course lots of toys to play and learn. Including the sand pit, dolls house, indoor home corner, outdoor play house, climbing wall, slide and most famous the Telly Tubby Hill, with tunnels included. The end of Summer Mini Olympics is also a fantastic day with all the parents making food from round the world, your little ones will be so happy that you will shed a tear when they leave! I did with 2 of my children and now I have another two attending this great playgroup!
