  As a first time mum with friends and family at least an hour away, the thought of doing this without the help of a village seemed daunting to me. My partner and I are a great team but we knew that we would need a break at some point and Bea was exactly everything we needed her to be. I am grateful that I was mobile quite soon after my c section, but that didn’t stop Bea from ensuring I was not doing the heavy lifting and ensuring I was getting the rest I needed. She was there to help with the day to day tasks and she enabled me to have a bit of stress free and calm me time. She enabled us both to recollect, reset and relax whilst also providing advice when asked and emotional support (which was definitely needed). That is everything in the newborn stages. In conclusion, we didn’t look back on our decision. Ps she makes AMAZING banana bread.

  Bea worked with us as both a birth doula and a post natal doula. We met early on in the pregnancy as I was very keen to have some support to help us navigate our first birth since we do not have family close by. Bea was a huge help along the journey especially when my birth plans got slightly derailed going from a possible home birth to a C-section at the hospital after a week of on again, off again labour. It was all extremely full on but she had helped to prepare me and my husband well for all of the things the medical system hit us with. Even though a C-section was a worst case scenario for me, I felt extremely confident going into the procedure because I had been so well prepared with what to ask for and how to shift my birth wishes to suit that environment in some small ways. Sadly she couldn't be at the birth because we were in theatre but having her there for the weeks after as a post natal doula when I was processing all that happened was incredibly helpful. Having someone who understands the medical system and could be a sounding board to work through things made the healing - both mentally and physically - more manageable. Bea is kind, caring and willing to go the extra mile for her clients and I would absolutely recommend her.

  Hidden Gems

  Bea was great! Even though I wasn’t allowed doula at birth for planned c section, we had a session online and I felt very prepared for birth and what to expect at the hospital after having spoken to Bea. We spoke about birth plan in details which my midwifes didn’t do (probably because it was a planned section) and I learned so many things about my rights and choices - that was really useful. Bea went out of her way finding things out for me that weren’t possible to find on the internet and sending me thorough updates and materials to read. She was fully invested in me as a client even though I wasn’t one of the “birth” ones. She is very professional in her demeanour and very knowledgeable which filled me with confidence. All in all, it was a great match and I’m glad I went with her (I approached several doulas in the area before making that decision).

  I cannot recommend Bea highly enough. She is kind, caring, resourceful, so helpful, hardworking and knowledgeable. Bea looked after us all postnatally for three months. Bea is a fantastic chef and made us delicious meals, not having to cook with a newborn was a huge timesaver, and the food was absolutely delicious, way beyond my cooking skills. Bea was so patient and kind with my 9 year old daughter, taking her to school and playing games during the school holidays. Most importantly, she looked after our newborn who was a super premie and gave us reassurance, which was invaluable during long days and sleepless nights. We wish Bea could stay with us longer, but will continue to keep in touch as she is the ultimate baby resource and has become a great friend to the family. We highly recommend her to anyone.   My husband and I are expecting our first baby and working with Bea has filled us both with so much more knowledge, confidence and awareness of everything to come. We've had weekly antenatal sessions in person and online where Bea has shared information on everything antenatally, labour and birth, and postnatally too. She has been invaluable in providing us with all the information we needed and answered our questions for us to build out our birth plan in the most informed way. On top of the sessions, she's been a god send as our "Pocket Doula", answering any day-to-day questions or worries we have, and helped us with research on other decisions we've made throughout. Cannot recommend enough. We're looking forward to Bea's support once our baby is here too as she will be coming to help us for a few sessions then. It's been invaluable and so lovely having her as part of our journey to parenthood. Thank you Bea!

  I contacted Bea at a point when I was all baby’d out. After 3mths of breastfeeding, lack of sleep, baby unable to nap in the day without contact, I was desperate for some time to myself, to do anything without baby attached. Bea was able to reassure me that these feelings were normal and gave me the chance to get things done, confident that my daughter would be well looked after. It felt a bit weird handing my daughter over to a stranger but Bea was warm, friendly and helpful and any concerns quickly disappeared. I’m grateful that Bea enjoyed walking as she certainly did a lot to ensure my daughter had adequate sleep in the day. After a couple of weeks I felt more confident in my new role as Mum. I’d recommend Bea to any new parents needing that reassurance and a moment to breathe. Wish I’d found her sooner!

  We cannot recommend Bea enough as a birth doula - she was brilliant, and we wouldn’t have gotten through it without her! From our first meeting, she made us feel comfortable and confident that we had made the right decision in choosing her as our birth and postnatal doula. We were - and continue to be - impressed by her warm, friendly, super-organised and responsive approach. Bea provided incredible support, advice and reassurance throughout. She went above and beyond to make sure that we felt informed and empowered every step of the way; the antenatal discussions with her really helped us work through our birth preferences in an informed manner. Her presence during labour was calming and reassuring, and her expertise was invaluable in helping us navigate unexpected challenges. Bea truly went the extra mile - she was committed to supporting us as labour progressed at all times of day and night; she was always available for us, and we cannot thank her enough for her support when we didn’t know what to do. She is a skilled and compassionate doula who truly cares about her clients; she looked after us when we were struggling. She’ll always be a special person in our lives for what she did for us during the birth. We are delighted to have Bea as our postnatal doula. She’s already been incredible in supporting us in so many ways as we find our feet as first-time parents. She has great advice, she’s proactive in helping us in all sorts of ways, and she has a great network that has been really helpful in accessing extra support as needed. She’s also brilliant with our new arrival too! If you are looking for a doula, look no further than Bea! We feel so lucky that she is our doula 😊.

  I found Bea online when my baby was 3 weeks old and after a difficult birth, I desperately needed to have some time to rest and recover. Bea went out of her way to meet us and our baby before she started helping us which made us both feel confident, reassured and relaxed that our baby was in great hands. Bea has been helping us for 3 weeks now. She is experienced, friendly and nothing is too much trouble - she has made my experience of early motherhood a lot less stressful and much more positive. As well as providing amazing care for our baby, Bea has also been great to chat to about post-birth emotions, which has really helped me to process things and recover more holistically. She helped (and is still helping) with day time care and over nights, which has given me a break and allowed me to get some much needed sleep, this has been instrumental in my recovery and as a result I've felt much more energised and positive. I would highly highly recommend her services.

  “I felt comfortable with Bea, I could relate to her and she came across very kind and caring, supportive of my wishes. She was knowledgable, sending over information on birth preparation, optimal fetal positioning, relevant Facebook groups and Instagram accounts. Bea was there if I needed to ask anything. She was accommodating of what I needed from a doula, even coming with me to a consultant appointment. She talked me through my decisions, helping me make informed choices. I new she had my back and could advocate for me Bea was very supportive during my labour, helping my husband, giving me encouragement and just being there. She helped calm me, talking to me and helping me position, always there with anything I needed or she thought I could do with and answering any questions I had. I felt very much supported through the whole pregnancy, birth and after.”

  Bea is a wonderful human and a super doula! She helped me in the early weeks as a new mum while my husband was away on business. This was a lifesaver during nights when I was daunted about being alone, and her support allowed me sleep and have more energy to face the music in the daytime. Bea has also offered invaluable advice from first-hand experiences as a mum of two herself, is an advocate of breastfeeding, and has given me confidence in myself in doing the best we can for our son.
