I was nearly poisoned when I was given a normal pizza after ordering gluten free (good job I double checked). The waiter was suitably apologetic but then stroppy when I asked for something off the bill as compensation for my woes. He conceded to removing the £2 additional I had to pay for a gluten free base. The pizza was delicious however as was the wine. Not sure I'll be back. Update: they got in touch after I posted this review to apologise and offer compensation.

We had such a lovely evening here! The food was delicious and the portion sizes were absolutely perfect. We sat up on the counters next to the chefs and they were so lovely all night and really looked after us. Would definitely recommend and come again!

A hidden in gem in Hackney, London. This restaurant and cocktail bar is tucked away in a street where you would never think of finding a restaurant. Located about 10 minutes walk from Hackney Central overground, it was a pleasure to visit Lardo. Whether you visit for food or just drinks, it’s a great experience. The restaurant is opened up with the kitchen so you can see the chefs preparing the food as well as watching the pizzas being cooked in the specially designed oven. The food was truly excellent and of Michelin standard. They do pizza which is good if you are hungry but the smaller dishes are expensive but well worth it for the flavour and creativity. The menu does change on a monthly basis. Ambience is excellent and the staff work brilliantly as a team. A great place hidden away in Hackney and highly recommended!

I got distracted and missed my booking slot, they called me to check in and help me get a table a little later. They then had the chef sit with our table to help my friend with various allergies. They proceeded to then serve us some absolutely wonderful food. Thank you all very much for looking after us. Excellent music playing too
