  Did my research online for a BMC Twostroke and Lap Cycles had one in stock. Ordered and delivered seamlessly, DPD even delivered a day early. Quite happy to build it up myself and Mauro emailed to check if I had any questions. Really happy with the sale and the bike.

  I would be very careful about buying anything from Lap Bikes. I went in and saw a bike. They didn’t have my size. They said they had at there Manchester store and if paid the balance they would bring in to the London store. On the proviso that If I didn’t like it. I would get a full refund. The next day I sent the money. Few days later I saw the actual bike for the first time in store and the wheel was scratched and the bike just wasn’t as I wanted, after now seeing it in the large size rather than a small. I was told the owner would refund me on the following working day as per the deal. I was told this in writing by the guy working in the store who was friendly and doing his job. However then I get an email telling me that as I paid by bank transfer and not credit card. And as I customised it by putting stock mud guards on it. Oh and as I had seen a similar bike and even tho I didn’t see the actually bike in store that didn’t count now and Oh and as I was a Business they wouldn’t refund me. Even though I had verbally before I sent the money and written confirmation they would after. Now apparently they had changed their mind and would not refund. The owner sent a blunt rude response email saying that was that. Bye. Even tho he then had the bike still in store and my money. For 4 weeks he had both. No mentioned in his email for me to go in and collect it just thanks Bye. Even better the ‘Now’ customised bike that he couldn’t re sell as was one of his later excuses was then put prime front and center in the shop window the very next day. What Business ever would treat any customers like this. To hold on the money and the bike. When I hadn’t even ever sat on the bike or had it left the store. Yet they did. Excuse after excuse of why they wouldn’t give me a refund. Until eventually I went legal on them and they then paid in 7 days. But not before charging me £350 for the mud guards ( which were £35) and the rest for transportation of the bike back and forth to Manchester. Oh but guess what, the bike is still front and center in their shop window in London even now, it didn’t go back to Manchester. This this tells you all about the people of slap bikes and there motives and morals.

  Took my Trek bike to have a handlebar installed. Charges were excessive. The cable routing was poorly done you can hear cable rub on turning the handlebar. When I asked upon delivery they said it was normal???When I bought it home the steerer tube was also loose, rocking and not tightened nor torqued properly. Didn’t bother even calling to rectify the issue. Mickey Mouse store in Canary Wharf will never use again!!! I reckon for repairing a puncture might be ok but anything technical forget it! I later took it to a proper Trek authorised store who have sorted the issue now. P.S charged me for an electric di2 cable that wasn’t needed!!!

  I had a service of my road bike recently, very friendly attitude and the mechanic did an excellent job. Upon collection of my bike, the mechanic noted during inspection the bearings and bottom bracket were in good working order, so there was no need for them to be replaced and the full service I thought I needed wasn't charged for, I paid only for the work done. This is very honest and their transparency is hugely appreciated. I have a feeling *some* bike shops will see areas that are in good working order, claim they were actually in a poor condition, said parts were ‘brought back to life’, resulting in the customer being charging for basically nothing. The mass majority (me included) won’t know what a bottom bracket needing replacement looks like. Kudos for their openness. For this I trust them implicitly. Mauro was super helpful when I went in a few weeks later for a follow-up. Superb.

  The bike service I believe was well carried out. I purchased new tires, I was advised my wheels couldn't support tubeless, so took the recommended tires.

  Booked a full bike service and took it in on the day only to be told they no longer do that. Wasted an hour trip. Really sh@t customer service. 28.05 - I'm not sure you tried very hard as since I left the review you have been able to call and email me no problems. Just for reference, when I picked up my bike from a basic service 2 weeks ago we had a chat in the shop about the date to drop in (agreed on the 27th) and you noted this so it definitely wasn't a 'walk in'. These are just poor excuses for bad service and I won't be coming back, there are plenty of other bike shops in London.
