Paid extra for their "Snuggle and Snooze" package which allowed me to have breakfast in bed and a late checkout of 1pm. However the breakfast came 20 minutes late, and they locked me out of my room come 12:30 (so I had to go back down to reception to get them to let me back into my room, and if you know the hotel you can imagine how much of a trek it is to get between rooms and reception!). They did give me bubbly and muffins upon arrival which was a pleasant surprise (even though I don't drink) but the service other than this wasn't amazing. Pool was a little grotty, saw quite a few ants and bugs about, but the steam room and sauna were pleasant enough. No air con in the bedroom, although there is a fan. I've also had food poisoning since staying here which I assume has come from the breakfast (as my friends and I had the same dinner and they were fine) so just bare that in mind!

I had a terrible experience with this hotel! I made a booking reservation with this hotel and a week before the booking, I cancelled it over the phone. My girlfriend spoke to someone on the phone and asked to cancel the booking. She was told the booking had been cancelled and she asked for an email to confirm it, which was never received. Then, a week after, they charged me the amount of the whole stay in my debit card, even though we made sure to cancel it a week before! When I saw the pending transaction on my bank account, immediately, I myself called the hotel and spoke to a lady from the front desk team and she said she could see that the booking was cancelled in the system, and she said that she was going to email the reservation department to get the refund sorted. Then, a couple of days later, when I called the hotel again and asked for an update on the situation, I was told to send a proof of the phone call I made to cancel the booking, which is a very strange request! As if I was lying about it and as if the lady on the phone few days before already didn’t tell me that she could see the cancellation in the system! I mean, what kind of request is that anyways? The hotel made an unauthorised charge with my card details, personal details, although I had cancelled the booking a week before, and still they made kind of hard for me to get the refund back, asking me for a proof of my phone call! I had to call back several times on the next few days and sometimes they would say that their manager wasn’t around to get it sorted! This was too much, I had to cancel my card, I had to go through all this awkward situations, we spent days calling, 3 or 4 times a day, at some point after more than a week, we were told that it would take at least 14 days for us to get a response! Them asking for a photo of the phone call I made to cancel the booking, it’s very bizarre! Also something that was very weird was the fact that none of the people who spoke to me over the phone wanted to give me their names! That was very weird! After more than a week of this nightmare I finally got my refund! Be careful with this hotel!

Asked for accessible room, the lady that booked it said it was near reception with a walk in shower. It did have a walk in shower but it was a long walk from reception. Surely that isn't accessible, especially when you are partially disabled. The breakfast was good, but the menu for dinner was the same on 3 nights running. Even had to ask for toilet rolls for our room. The staff were really nice, but it was a little noisy at night time. Rooms: The rooms were very corporate no soft carpets, hard pillows and heavy duvets.

We have stayed at the Quays many times and have been always happy to return.. We commented that the exterior and some of the interior is starting to look very tired and in need of a refresh. And we noted a sign at reception advising that some of the ground floor rooms are being refurbished. So that seems like a positive move and suggests that a refresh is underway. We booked an evening meal and arrived bang on time and greeted by a bubbly enthusiastic young lady who couldn't have been more helpful. The electronic till was down so she had to take the order on paper. The food arrived very quickly and frankly was excellent. Couldn't fault quantity, temperature, quality and taste. See the photos of a truly amazing sunset through the window in front of our table. Stunning. Following morning we found that the problems appear to have been a power cut and consequently there was no hot water for the shower. On checking out we advised the reception of the water issue and we were offered to have our evening meal drinks bill removed. That is what we call great customer service. Well done The Quays. We will be back and hope to see further refresh works. P. S. The complimentary bottle of bubbly in the room. Was a surprising bonus. Thank you

While the rooms are spacious and the spa service is nice, I don't know how this can be considered a 4-star hotel. Aside from the fact that we didn't have any hot water for the entirety of our stay, the service was extremely sub-par. - Our rooms were not cleaned once our entire stay. We also only had one towel and no robes, slippers, toiletries were provided at all. - We had to wait half an hour to be seated for breakfast which was cold, greasy and poor quality. When we ordered breakfast in the room, it never arrived and we had to go through the queue again. - While the dinner was tasty, the service was very slow and the food came out late and our mains were brought out 25 mins apart. Overall, I don't think the package is worth the money which is shame due to the location and facilities available.
