This is a great aikido club - I discovered Lancaster Aikido in autumn 2018 and I travel from Cumbria to train each Sunday with them. The instructors Steve, Aaron, Ellie and Keith are great and the venue is really good. Training is friendly and fun, but focused and martial. All are welcome - and most certainly made welcome. Very recommended.

So I was training on my own with no teacher as mine had retired. A friend mentioned Lancaster Aikido Club in a conversation because they were hosting an international teacher who was to be someone I shouldn’t miss. I was so welcomed by this group of strangers that I was at a loss for words. The teacher of the seminar was indeed phenomenal and from that weekend in 2013 became my teacher. From 2013 I have attended over 20 events that Lancaster Aikido Club have put on and still find the club to be the most welcoming anyone could ask for. I’m indebted to this great club and for those that are lucky enough to live close enough to join it I would say…… what are you waiting for? Brendon Buchanan Dojo Cho of Takemusu Midlands

I started as a complete beginner and am proud to be an instructor at the club now. We teach a very high quality of Traditional Takemusu Iwama Aikido in the lineage of Morihiro Saito Sensei and O Sensei. Beginners are welcomed and supported throughout their development (as I was) and all classes are suitable for new starters or advanced practitioners. We train a Japanese system of self defence that employs weapons and empty handed elements to develop a coordinated and balanced martial artist, and human being. Lancaster Aikido Club are directly affiliated with Traditional Aikido Europe (traditionalaikido.eu). We hope to hear from you soon
